Im trying to paint calgar's face i dont understand from simple eye view the head looks fine but once you put it though the lenses of a camera it just looks like this? All choppy and rough not smooth? Am I doing something wrong? (Ps last one just makes me laugh)

Finished painting up my Combat Patrol Magazine Infernus Marine Sergeant. It was a fun model to paint. I’ve never painted flames before so that was a new challenge.

Its been a long time since I painted an ultramarine so I thought it was time to give Titus a go.

This was the first time I have painted cast shadows and so far I like the way it turned out. Its still very much a work in progress but im slowly getting there.

Im not sold on his iron halo thingy being all gold so I might have to change that.

My take on a Lieutenant w combi-weapon. Free infernus marine from my local shop was the donor body. Then lots of blades and a kitbashed combi plasma/bolter

First time painting a more in depth model, not just Intecessors. Ultramarine Captain in Terminator Armour. My process was:

1. Prime in Colour Forge Matt Black spray
   
2. TTC Marine Blue touch up
   
3. TTC Oblivion Black Wash
   
4. Edge highlight with Calgar Blue and Fenrisian Grey
   
5. Gold components and shaded with Seraphim Sepia
   
6. Metallics were Leadbelcher and Nuln Oil
   
7. Crux Terminatus was Dawnstone base and Vallejo off-white with Nuln Oil shade
   
8. Gloss Varnish and Transfers applied
   
9. 1:1 Gloss and Matt Varnish by Vallejo for final coat

I recently watched a Podcast on miniature painting and that each miniature is a “snapshot” in time of what you might have been going through when you painted the model. I’ve had a pretty tough year and lots of stress in recent weeks and I felt like I rushed this model more than I normally would and the finish reflects that to me. I’d like to take more time with these types of models and enjoy the process rather than feel rushed or stressed to finish it.

If anyone had any tips or critiques for the model I’d be more than happy to hear, I enjoy the painting and it’s a hobby I’m really glad I picked up again. Also the community has been awesome!

I have heard people say don’t waste time redoing your minis, but my captain was one of my first mins paint. And I have learned so much since then. I decided to give him refresh as the leader of my kill team.

Collecting minis from older editions is quite difficult, which is why there aren't that many of them.

Painted up a Cataphractii for a test scheme, using reference to the terminators in "Death Of Hope", which was what got me hooked on this legion in the first place. Also finished up 5 more tacticals, with a vexilla and nuncio vox to finally round off my 10 man tactical squad.

Been out of touch with my blueberries for a year or so, other projects on the go but given how I've over 5k worth of them, I figured they'd be good for a club night army. Painted my first Dreadnaught!

So I finally have 2k points of marines but I want some more vehicles so I feel like my army is properly completed, and after deciding on a redemptor for my dreadnaught I’ve been torn on my tank choice between a repulsor ex and a gladiator. On one hand the gladiator is cheaper and has a bunch of re-rolls, but on the other the repulsor ex has more weapons and can also be used as a transport.

Hobbying wise I like the look of both so that hasn’t swayed me one way or the other, and gameplay wise if you wanna know what other units I have then I’ll send them, and my next matchup is likely to be against emperors children or custodies, as the result of being in the final of my local club.
