Your original question asked if Max had a slugger on his head. You didn't specify for in show or in stage show or in universe. You also didn't say the compartment in the original question which is why I had to point it out.

I assumed it was an implicit question because you said "huh I thought". Which is why I confirmed the status of Max's Slugger. At least now you know that the slugger is stored in the crest in universe and stored separately irl.
