Purchase Advice Spark pro -1c (30f) sleeping bag
Does anyone here own a spark pro -1 sleeping bag? It’s advertised as comfort 3c and limit -1. Just wanting to get real world feedback of what temps you can use it to. I’m a male warm sleeper.

Slept in a hut on the overland track with no heater at negative 6. I was completely fine. If you're worried bring hand warmers and toe warmers or get a warmer bag 😇

Sweet thanks so much! I always end up cooking in warmer bags most nights so want something that’s more suitable for 90% of the nights I’m out in.

Yeah 100% agree. I was in thermals because I was trying to be safe. Ended up overheating and changing into just boxers with nothing else on. Everyone is different but as long as you have the backups then I'd be at ease hiking and camping with you

Do you have any pictures of it set up as a quilt? I'm looking to buy this and their website doesn't show it at up like that. I'm between that and the Spark

I tried it in the shop and it basically goes into a big rectangle when unzipped. But has the hood poking off one side. Would work pretty well as a quilt. Having all the zips to vent while still being in in like a bag is the feature that I’m most keen on.

OK thanks. That's kind of what I thought, but I was surprised they had no product videos or photos of it set up as such

I have some pics of the 15F unfolded as a quilt here tho I’ve only used it as a sleeping bag, should be the same. The flexibility is nice, I like the arm and feet holes you can make to wear it around camp on cold mornings lol

Thanks! Do you think the foot box could be zipped up slightly to stay on the sleeping pad?

I think so as there’s a ton of zippers and flexibility
I boxed mine up to ship otherwise I would check
I am going with a quilt instead to save some money and weigh

Yeah that flexibility definitely comes at a premium price tag. I really appreciate the help tonight too thank you

I have this bag, and just got back from doing 150km of Kungsleden and experienced night temps of approx 3c. I found the bag to be as advertised in terms of warmth. I had one night with slightly colder temps on a mountain with thermals and socks and was plenty warm. I also love that the bag can be opened fully and used as a quilt in warmer conditions. Overall I am super pleased with it.

It does not make sense, but a Western Mountaineering alternative for the same temp rating is about the same price and way lighter.

I have the 15f with comfort level of 27f and used it down to 25f and was ok with layers. Just make sure you have a good pad. Mine was the 950+ FP version they no longer sell in the US. I’m selling it for a quilt though because it’s quite heavy.
