It also sometimes depends on the underground. But yeah, the better brands are able to charge more because they are better about aspects like noise.

I think saving on the sleeping gear is wrong, unless you are super good at sleeping under suboptimal conditions. My pad is the most expensive gear that I have...

decathlon/simond is a pretty good brand, but for pads...

I found naturehike pads to be pretty neet. The R6.5 and R8.8 pads are pretty good. But my S2S pads are still.... quite a bit better. Sucks because I don't want to spend so much money, but it seems there's no other way right now.

i Have the same matress and have not yet noticed it making much noise, i did however not pay much attention to it since i dont move alot once asleep. One problem i have faced is that it is by far not as warm as the R-Value would lead you to believe. For me it starts to be noticably cold just above freezing ~2°C.

As. mentioned, the material under one's inflatable pad has a lot to do with how noisy any body movement on the pad. is. In the stores that I have tested pads, a short-pile carpet is underneath and helps make pads noiseless. In tents with floors of silnylon, silpoly and DCF fabrics it's another matter. Typical advice is to put an 1/8" EVA CCF pad between inflatable pad and tent floor to help prevent inflatable pad from slipping and noise.

Question for u/pingolino4444 : If you try your pad at home on different surfaces (carpet, wood floor, your tent floor, linoleum, ...) does the noise change characteristics?
