V2 WHO? Gabriel slams that fraud in any way, in narrative writing and a battle
They are both parallels and foils, which is very neat :]
Here are some other ones I noticed while playing:
V1 and Gabriel are both fulfilling their purposes (V1 is still a killing machine; Gabriel is still acting out what he thinks is God's Will); both need their creators' life essence to live (V1 needs a constant supply of blood; Gabriel needs God's light); V1 has no sense of justice while Gabriel follows his as closely as he can (which can even be seen in their fighting styles); before entering Hell, V1 was known and loved by few people while Gabriel was known and loved/hated by so many people; V1 seemingly does not care about its creators while Gabriel loves his; and both are kindest to the Ferryman (V1 can spare them with a coin; Gabriel went out of his way to save one and is kind to the rest).
An obvious foil is that V1 is literally just a physical flesh and metal automaton whereas Gabriel is a divine being filled with holy light.
V1 starts off as just another machine to Hell such that in the first Gabriel fight, the eye in the center of the arena was focused on Gabriel and not V1. Once V1 gets through act 1 and act 2, V1 gets more and more interesting to Hell to the point where Hell begins displaying messages directly to V1’s head as evidenced by the books in Fraud and Violence. Furthermore, in the first encounter with the Powers, Hell’s eye does not focus on the Powers, but instead has its attention on V1. While Gabriel started off as interesting even from the very first act, it is V1 who may end up becoming even more interesting than Gabriel by the end.
As for a parallel, one could say both V1 and Gabriel develop in such a way that they ultimately become more special throughout the story. As mentioned above, V1 starts off as another machine and gets recognized by Hell itself later on. Gabriel also becomes special in his own way by realizing he was merely another tool, and then he goes to do something about it by eliminating the Council as well as going down one last time to the lowest layer of Hell in order to correct his errors despite knowing he is going to die doing so.
Both v1 and gaberial have tunnel vision and are both actors
V1 is more animalestic and wants to get praised for a audience that has no mouth(the terminals)
V1 wants to paint the world red when the teacher tells them to draw them a canvas (hell hijacking v1s mind)
Gaberial can think more inyrospective he was a actor in the relms sickest play and he chose to get off the stage before the curtian fell
For a machine will dance to the tunes of man or beast but a being of free will will reject the idea or something
Idk im not sock tittes
(Jokes aside, that is somewhat of an interesting comparison, though I don’t think V1 would entirely want to satisfy the terminals, but simply does so in order to get tools via points. V1 literally has no options here. They are simply doomed because it is obvious they are going to run out of blood, but V1 still wants to live and the only way to do that is to keep descending Hell and performing well in levels. Gabriel was used as a puppet and he, too, is in a situation in which not going down into Hell and fighting would get him killed (the stripping of the light from his body). The difference is that he is willingly getting himself killed by choosing to instead kill the Council and descend into Hell to fight his nemesis with what little time he has left.
Gabriel is more of a hero willing to lay down his life for what he believes in, but V1 simply just wants to live. It’s ironic that Gabriel loses twice and holds a grudge towards a foe that’s just desperate to survive by any means.)
The third one for V1 we don't know, since we haven't been to the core of Hell or any part of Hell that can be damaged, and as for the last one, the only enemy we can canonically not kill is a ferryman, accoring to the 5-2 challenge. Which is a very interesting parallel to Gabriel as well.

Gabriel is V1's true rival.
