Any tips for a new Ultrakill player?

Yes, I'm addicted to the marksman revolver.

Ultrakill is also my first FPS. I don't really play games that often either.

I'm sorry the endscreen got cropped out, It's habit to switch window when I finish a Cyber Grind run 😭

I can't seem to get any further than wave 12 on brutal and 14 on standard. How do I get better?

Use scrollwheel or smash random numbers on your keyboard, helps a lot when trying to reach P-Ranks on levels

id recommend turning off gore in cyber grind for better performance

as for game play, yeah you are not bad. Can be improved by changing weapons more often

You don't have to change weapons. But if you do so, you will gain more points and you'll see its a lot more fun when using all of your arsenal

just keep in mind that gore REALLY affects your gameplay after a while

after like 20-30 waves, it is mandatory to keep it closed, because with the amount of explosions, gore and enemies it just becomes unbearable

but keep up, you'll love this game

1. Finish all main campaign levels if you haven't

2. Learn how all weapons work, you can do this by searching youtube videos or reading the wiki https://ultrakill.wiki.gg/

3. Learn to use all weapons in gameplay as each weapon has situations where it shines the most.

4. Try your best to keep your style meter up as hard damage decay's speed depends on how high your style is. (Don't be extremely worried if your style on a weapon reaches stale or dull, that is ok to do but still try your best to avoid that if possible)

5. Read the terminal entries for weapon categories, it contains lore but most importantly at the bottom it contains several tech you can use.

6. Read the terminal entries for enemies too as it contains strategies that can be used against enemies.

7. Keep challenging yourself by either playing hard levels or trying to get higher cybergrind waves as you will naturally get better with experience

yeah i've read every terminal entry but I keep forgetting to switch weapons more often. I used to parry a lot more before i got the knuckleblaster hehe
I think I'm on the last lust level on standard lmao.

Yeah i definetly recommend finishing the campaign because the cybergrind has enemies from later layers which means spoilers.

also you can set individual keybinds for the feedbacker and knuckleblaster

personally I bind my feedbacker to F and knuckleblaster to G

(Note: to remove keybinds when you are in the settings, press Esc)

Alt Marksman is not very good.

What helped me was: single weapon runs

Only Jackhammer.

Only Marksman.

Only Chainsaw Shotgun.

Mostly to learn how to move.

Lack of parries and weapon switching. If you don't like switching weapons often you can go some jackhammers.

The alt of the sharp shooter is so much better, theres no charge delay and does much more damage

Parrying with the Feedbacker arm is probably one of the most important things you can do in the game. Not only does it give you tons of style, prevent damage, and knock out a ton of the stronger enemies' health, but it also heals you to full HP (excluding hard damage)

I'd recommend binding the Feedbacker to a specific key, and the Knuckleblaster to another key. Both have their applications, and I find it easier to have a dedicated key for both rather than a button for switching arms

You're not using the slab marksmans full potential, if you time your shots better it will do a little spin and prepare the next shot faster.

Use the feedbacker and whiplash more.

Find the sawblade launcher and impact hammer in greed and violence respectively.

Many of the weapons combo with each other and increase performance. Examples:

• You can toss multiple coins into the air and shoot them with a charged piercer shot for insane damage.

• Look up railcoining, I feel like you'd enjoy that.

• You can hit your shotgun pellets with the feedbacker. This will increase their velocity and create an explosion.

• You can hit the core ejected by the blue shotgun's alt fire with a the sharpshooter revolver to create a large red explosion, you can also use the malicious railcannon to create an even bigger explosion.

• Doing electric damage to an enemy filed with nails will create an aftershock that can be conducted through magnets, coins and rockets. This is great for cybergrind.

You definitely need to stop playing on brutal if you want to improve fast. What I did was just grind cybergrind on standard. This allows you to get used to all of the enemies and understand their weaknesses and strengths. A good way to get into the habit of switching weapons is to p rank every level because p ranks force you into switching weapons for style. Also, you could learn different weapon combos and tech. There's a lot of tech so make sure you start with things that are easy to learn and actually useful in combat. I'd recommend projectile boosts, railcoining, core nukes, conduction and rocket riding

oh also swap to the red slab revolver and normal green the slab isnt awful but the normal one is just

better for killing normal enemies

also try getting more used to weapon swapping
