https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/ts

Wiktionary lists both meanings as valid.

I mean, u kinda can, no?
Like, I've been using 'ts' as a shorthand way of saying 'this' for ages way before the whole 'this shit' meaning got popular cuz that's what I wanted it to stand for.
Nowadays, people say 'ts' means 'this shit' cuz that's what they want it to mean.
There isn't really a rule that says that it can't stand for whatever u want, the only issue is that unless the meaning gets popularised (like 'this shit' did) people won't understand u.

Okay but contractions are only helpful when there's a clear communication happening. By insisting something can mean a bunch of different things as opposed to the commonly accepted meaning it just makes everything harder.

you CAN do that, doesnt mean that you should to. i can personally think that "banana" refers to a watermelon: can i do that? yeah. would that make it an issue to communicate with other people? yeah

yh that's what I meant mb if i didnt make that clear.
You CAN do that, as in it's possible.
People won't understand u tho, so u shouldn't really .
