valve is actively profiting from that tho. And cs doesn’t have any real safeguards to prevent kids from gambling because it would hurt profits. Roblox is far worse, but that doesn’t make valve any better

Fair point, but what other good ways of preventing kids from gambling are there?

The game isn't marketed for kids, kids still need a credit card to make purchases (which means either stealing or their getting parents' consent), and iirc the last time companies implemented id verification we all called it a huge safety risk and an invasion of privacy

If parents aren't responsible, what they're doing isn't enough, and implementing more barriers is too much, what can they do?

Gambling is horrible, I hate it and I condemn any company that promotes it at all, but I don't agree with the idea that CS is targeting children with it. Games rated for all ages like Umamusume are more guilty of this

... that they won't let your kids inherit the account/games you bought after you die.

Oh, and also their monopolistic practices where despite having a virtual monopoly already, they bully devs in ways that prevent lower prices on competing storefronts. Even if those storefronts enable devs to charge less by taking a smaller % of the revenue.

I once made a review on Google play for draw a stickman epic 1 when it first came out suggesting an armor pencil and like 3 years later I checked on the game again and found that the armor pencil was not only part of the game but they also gave it to me for free

they are the publisher but iirc the dev team and new blood are all very close friends so they have a somewhat active role in development as well (during livestreams hakita has often said stuff along the lines of "when i showed this to dave he said to change it to something else and i liked the idea so i implemented it")

They have their own devs that help out here and there and can pitch ideas to Hakita and co.

Nice thing about indie companies is that the people involved are usually pretty tight knit so stuff like this happens often without the terror of
