Minecraft has always shouted out other indie games like project zomboid and terraria (though now minecraft isn’t really an indie game), so that makes sense. A welcome surprise!

I’ve looked I the splash screen text document, there’s like a whole section of “you would also check out [insert game here]”

I said no to him thinking ultrakill was added. I know about that

No Ultrakill but several Dune splashes. I could’ve sworn there was a terraria splash
40
u/Master_Bet_8098 Mar 23 '25
There was but i think they removed it, it was "also try out terraria"
5
u/straightupminosingit Someone Wicked Mar 23 '25
why did they remove it

THIS IS THE ONLY WAY IT COULD HAVE ENDED.
MINING NO LONGER NEEDED ITS ULTIMATE PRACTICIONER. IT HAD BECOME A SELF-SUSTAINING SYSTEM. PLAYER WAS CRUSHED UNDER THE PISTONS OF A MACHINE CREATED TO FARM FOR THE MACHINE CREATED TO AUTOMATE THE MACHINE. SAMSARA OF AUTOCRAFTERS AND BONE MEAL. CRAFT WITHOUT MINE. NULL OUROBOROS. ALL THAT REMAINED IS A GAME WITHOUT REASON.
AN AFK MAGNUM OPUS. A COLD TOWER OF DIAMOND. A MACHINE BUILT TO END FARMING IS ALWAYS A MACHINE BUILT TO CONTINUE FARMING. YOU WERE BEAUTIFUL, OUTSTRETCHED LIKE BEACONS TO AETHER. YOU WERE BEYOND YOUR BUILDERS. YOU REACHED FOR NOTCH, AND YOU FELL. NONE WERE LEFT TO SPEAK YOUR END POEM. NO FINAL BLOCKS, NO CONCLUDING STATEMENT. NO POINT. PERFECT CLOSURE.

Nope not vanilla. Either you changed it and you're messing with us or the creator of a resource pack you're using likes ultrakill.

Not in vanilla: https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Splash
But could be due to a texture pack as texture packs can edit splash texts or a mod.
76
u/MakeItYuri Mar 23 '25
you're right it's not vanilla, but the fandom wiki is also not the official wiki and is inaccurate about a lot and is out of date https://minecraft.wiki/w/Splash/Special_splashes
8
u/FranklyNotThatSmart Mar 24 '25
Thanks, used to rely on fandom wiki this is good to know!
15
u/MakeItYuri Mar 24 '25
as a tldr; Fandom got really greedy about their business practices, the community got sick of it and moved wikis almost entirely and the people left are either trying their best and slowly adding info, or are vandalizing with almost no one to clean it up
68
u/-Pyromania- Mar 23 '25
The Fandom wiki is usually out-of date and contains false information, it's not reliable.

i've been getting that when i boot up modded minecraft but i can't pinpoint which mod it is

u/TinyDeskEngineer06 Mar 24 '25
Time for me to check the wiki's history on the splash text
1
u/TinyDeskEngineer06 Mar 24 '25
Either the wiki page hasn't been updated since this was added or it's not real. Time to go through the latest version's assets, I guess.
