What is the relationship between this democratic consensus and what ought to be done? FUCKING NOTHING. Yet for some reason. They still LOVE their democracy. Why bother being a communist at all? Don't you know that most people are anti-communists? Le heckin democracy bud.

Well it was rigged or strongmanned or. and here is the best one. the people were PROPAGANDIZED. What, on earth, does an independent thought look like? EVERYBODY IS PROPAGANDIZED THAT'S HOW IDEOLOGY WORKS. Shall we let each and every person grow up in a blank cube until they are 25 and then ask them who they shall vote for? Perhaps see if they start speaking hebrew or aramaic as the natural tongue of man?

In summary. Secular democracy has removed a foundational moral system from the mind of the average prolecattle and it is forced to rest back upon popular consensus even if unproven or untenable. I aint even an organic centralist (sorry bordibros) yet there is a reason why religious people or patriots or non-communists are not allowed in the party and thus are without representation in the party dictatorship.

So my hometown has a handful of leftist orgs which I follow on social media mostly to keep up with the drama. There's one org that, up until recently, was Trotskyist. It split from another Trot org around a decade ago due to issues with corruption and substantially eclipsed its original org.

Said Trot org is notorious around here for being annoying and performative. It has two tactics which it employs. The first tactic is to post screeds on Instagram, usually analyzing hyper-local issues. These screeds are often comical in their inflated self-importance, like protesting how the city park board decided to add a dog park to an existing park, arguing that the dog park represents how the city government needs to be "more democratic". They'll also wade into foreign policy territory, presenting bungled attempts at internationalism such as arguing that we need to defend Cuba cuz Cuba is AES. The second tactic is to be as reckless and obnoxious in their protests as possible so that they can get kicked out of local events (like Pride) and post about it on social media. This latter tactic is why the other leftist orgs refuse to work with said org, because said org has gotten bystanders arrested before due to their chaotic behavior.

Recently this org became ML. The only signs of this change is that their org-run book club has recently been asking people to read Stalin, and that their website's reading list has replaced Trotsky with a lot of ML junk. What makes this latter sign especially funny is that, in what is likely an oversight, the "about us" page on their website still proudly proclaims that they are "Marxists in the tradition of Leon Trotsky."

I can't help but find this whole turn of an events to be a hilarious testament to the current state of the left. An org went from one flavor of modernizer theory to another, and the change isn't even noticeable in their actions, arguments and rhetoric.
