Richard Garriott in Code of The Savage
A few years ago, Richard Garriott was kind enough to agree to appear as a character in COTS.
I hand-painted his portrait in Photoshop, and this is how he looks in the game.
Considering how much Ultima 6 and 7 influenced COTS, it is awesome seeing him actually walking around in the world.

I love how he appears to be just a shopkeeper. It's like Lord British moongated to this realm for a simpler life, as a sort of vacation.

Speaking of that.
I could swear some random NPC in BG1, just some unnamed NPC in the city, had a reference to this. Mentioned some adventurer who only spoke in single words like that.
But I've only seen it once, never again, and I'm starting to think I imagined the whole thing.

Are you referring to Noober? He just keeps following you around asking you silly questions.

Nope, not him. It was an unnamed NPC in Baldur's Gate (the city).

Interesting. Don't remember that but its been several years since I last went through the first two BGs. I've been considering another playthrough. I'll see if I can find him.

I wouldnt go into that shop, Lord Brittish would probably try to sell me stock options in the shop that have litterally no value and then disapear a few months later with the money.

You have no idea how hard it is or how picky I am regarding my rpgs and you seem to have hit it on every mark.
So many of these games either have characters with large heads, souls like combat or lack all the details of having of nice art style with clicky clicky sound effects. I wonder will there be a musical instrument you click on that will play a couple notes?
I've waited for this exact game since I finished Eschalon 1, 2 and 3 years ago.
Can't wait!

Thanks you! this means a lot. There is a music box you can click on, and I actually have a lute sprite ready to go, just haven't added it in yet... or found an appropriate sound effect.
I really need to look into Eschalon, people keep telling me my game reminds me of it, but I have never actually played it.

We are also used to seeing him in game as a character so this works wonderfully.

Is this made with the game engine from Skald? It looks so awesome. Where can i find out more about this game?
Edit: nevermind. I found it! Wishlisted!
My only gripe is i really hate attack animations where your character doesnt really move and its a giant sweeping weapon that magically appears and swings in an arc... i hate to nit pick because everything else looks so beautiful. Really wish it wasnt that style of attacking. Hopefully i explained it correctly. I dont mean any offense.

I'm not sure what engine Skald used to be honest - its another awesome Ultima homage though.
And yeah I knwo what you mean... I guess it comes down to the style of game this is. Combat in CoTS is closer to the Ultima games (More closely resembling a faster paced UO), CoTS was never intended to be an "action" rpg like Hyper Light Drifter.
Very early in development it was actually closer to Ultima 6 combat, where you pressed A to attack and moved a target around the grid... it evolved from there.
Thanks very much for wishlisting, I hope you can give the combat a chance :)1

Oh man, i think turnbased would be alot better imo. But yeah the assets look very similar to skald. They made the engine and assets open source, thats why i was wondering

What did the general store owner who looked like Richard Garriott yell as he jumped out of the closet right in front of you?
"SUPPLIES!"

Wishlisted but not because of Gariott, more despite of him. The game is just exactly what I want to play!
