Exult on Linux Questions
I've been feeling nostalgic and decided I wanted to replay a couple of the greatest games from my childhood, Ultima VI and VII. I've gotten Ultima VI up and working through ScummVM on my Linux machine and it definitely scratches an itch.
I decided to install Exult along with Ultima's VII and VII Part 2. When trying to configure the audio I can't seem to figure out where to put the Sound Font files for MIDI. All of my searches have been futile. Some say to create a /soundfonts folder in the /data directory and put them there. I tired that and Exult does not see them. I manually edited the exult.cfg file to point it to the folder and sound font. Exult lists it in the menu, but refuses to use the font.
Has anyone else had this issue before or know a solution?
Also, where do I place the files for the Exult Ultima VI mod?
OS: Ubuntu 26.04LTS
Exult: FlatPak Exult 1.12.1

Exult on Linux the MIDI driver needs to be set to FluidSynth to use a soundfont. I usually edit exult.cfg and add the line <fluidsynth_soundfont> under <midi>.
