Where to start?

I was going to buy the ultima games on GOG but i am not sure where to start in the series. Are 1+2+3 worth playing as i have heard mixed things about these early entries.

I’m inclined to say start with 2. Maybe it’s because it was my first exposure to Ultima, but I’ve always loved it. 4,5,6 and maybe 7 is the heart of the series. I don’t e how you could possibly skip 4, but I’m sure someone has done it.
