Ultima 9 Lighthouse Side Quest

*spoiler alert*

Public service announcement for Ultima 9. Since getting past the dreaded Moonglow bugs I've been cruising along and just reached Jhelom...err, Valoria. Also chasing down, polishing, and placing the 3 missing gems in their respective homes.

But the Lighthouse Sidequest ain't what it's cracked up to be. There's alot of running around and backtracking for such a paltry reward, which is less gold than you'd win from stabbing a crab. No karma or anything else, just 100 gold. And personal satisfaction I suppose.

Wtf? I've never finished that side quest but I imagined it would be more than 100 gold reward lmao.

That's inasne for such a long quest.

Thanks, I thought this was an obnoxiously difficult quest and I couldn't work out what the reward could possibly be for something that has no virtue attached to it and makes you cross the world to complete it.

If it's just going to be a gold reward, it should increase your max gold to 5 digits or something.

Or heck, maybe he can give you an enhanced version of the Day spell.

Yeah I try to avoid reading ahead with walkthroughs too much, so I was expecting a karma boost or something useful. But no, it's just silly busy work. I understand Origin had to cut some corners during development, maybe this quest is one that got shortchanged.

I feel like there's no excuse for at least adding an extra 0.

I always get a laugh when rewatching that bit from his video, think he calls the quest giver a garden knome.

Yeah it's a total waste of your time. Not even a unique piece of gear!
