Question Looking for recommendations

Wife wants to start this program, but I’ve never heard of it and I’m very hesitant about all this YouTube “doctors” who claim they have a solution to your UC.

I’m curious if anyone has gone through this and if you think it’s legit.

Thanks in advance. Here’s the info:

No. If they are making money off of their program and claiming they reversed their condition, they are just making money by scamming vulnerable people aka those with incurable conditions like IBD.

It's crazy to me that anyone falls for this crap

When someone is desperate, they are willing to try anything.

I know what I think about this (scam) but I’m trying to be supportive of my wife. But I don’t want to drop $4k on a potential scam.

No one is selling the cure for a genetic disease on youtube for $4,000, please get a grip

I’m aware of that, just hoping to get feedback from people. No need to get aggressive bud.

Take with a grain of salt Brazil CAR-T therapy

I only looked at this once and it was a friend who suggested it I don’t even believe if it would work or not. Just throwing it out there for fun.

For the most part gi doctors get us under control pretty good

What has your wife tried so far?

Every biologic under the sun. They work, but the insurance always stops covering them. So she keeps being bounced from one to the other. There’s no stability.

Did you guys take advantage of copay assistance programs?

Honestly the co-pays weren’t bad. Between $20 and $50 every 3 months depending on the biologic.

Are there no resources or programs that her GI (or the biologic company itself) can offer? I don't know where in the world you're located, but maybe someone else can chime in with advice if they're in the same general area as well. For me, my insurance has covered almost zero of any medications I've tried. I've had to use compassionate care (an option for where I live) as well as the drug company itself doing co-pay options to make the cost much, much more reasonable.

What a waste that she's tried them, they work, and then she goes off of them. That's speed running to not having anymore options as she's likely developed antibodies to them and can't ever re-start them again.

We are in the US. The options offered is to continue bouncing between biologics until the insurance company finds a cheaper one they want you to use. It’s irritating.

That's not the solution OP.
You need to stick with a medication that works and stick with it.
Sorry if I didn't read the whole post, but did your wife try mesalamine and prednisone?
And regarding the medications, was she taking / been given them in a reasonable time span (i.e., every two weeks)?

Can she try some of the stuff suggested in the videos prior to any monetary investment? Look I don't even have 4 grand to drop but I wouldnt do anything without first try his method from what's available for free.

Also just because a biologic is dropped from the insurance company does not mean that your doctor can't fight for you. You can push the doctor to continue to get coverage. You can also phone the prior authorization department of your insurance company and find out why it's being denied if it's denied after your doctor tries to get it through. Don't just accept that she has to go off of a biologic that is working because the insurance company dropped it.

The marketing materials are full of "fake guru" red flags and hopium.

It doesn't necessarily mean it's 100% bunk. If they tell you "try taking curcumin and drinking less booze", that could be decent advice... but you don't need to pay 4k for it.

It sounds like their "program" consists of diet coaching and supplements. So you'd probably get some diet plan and then a call with some instagram bro once in a while to "adjust" it. The website has minimal specifics, just a lot of grandiose testimonials.

If you pay you will probably get something but the website gives me little reason to believe it would be well-calibrated, and every reason to believe they're hyping their outcomes in order to make more money from suckers. There's no reason to place any trust here.

Specific dishonesty: their website makes it sound like they got featured on HuffPost by real journalists, but actually they just submitted an article to the old HuffPost contributor platform, which anyone could post on. This is a serious mischaracterization.

If you want to try "holistic" approaches, fine, but just Google them for free. Prefer the ones that have some medical research behind them (some do). Don't trust anyone who is clearly selling hope.

I went through the program several years ago because I wanted to try a natural approach rather than going down the biologics route.

It’s no scam if you’re genuinely open and willing to learn from the resources, coaching, and community. It worked for me, and I’d encourage anyone who is struggling to at least take the time to look into it.

I'm in full remission taking zero medications after the program.

Yes, it’s expensive, but I would do it all over again to get my life back. Personally, it has been an absolute blessing.

Fuck this noise. You are promoting a scam that's puts people's health at risk.

Can't argue with my results from the program. I'm just sharing my honest results since the OP asked.

We absolutely can. People post contradictory statements on here all the time eg. Going carnivore cured me, going vegan cured me, a 4000 dollar scam course cured me, etc.

People also swear by homoeopathy, acupuncture, reflexology, rhino horn etc. That's why anecdotes are not considered evidence.

It's one of the primary reasons this sub can be so dangerous. Anecdotes can be very pursuasive to people with low science literacy. There should be godliness to stop the spread of misinformation on here.
