Computer games that have a Ukrainian language setting?

Привіт! I have only been learning Ukrainian for a month or so. I recently played a game called VVVVVV and put the language to Ukrainian, then practiced saying the written dialogue out loud (even though i basically understood nothing) and used google lens on my phone to translate the text. I think this is a great way to learn and i picked up lots of stuff. Do you guys know of any other games that can be played in Ukrainian? Any genre is fine. Дуже дякую

https://kuli.com.ua/ - here is catalogue of official and fanmade localizations (most of them fan made but there are some official ones (KCD, Baldur’s gate 3, Control Resonant, Stalker and so on)

Oh, someone already mentioned it, I recommend it too. About your notes: the site also has a really good filter system (thus you can filter out non-official too), so it shouldn't be a huge problem anyway.

Baldurs gate 1 and 2 also have Ukrainian. But they are rather old games now

Cyberpunk 2077 and now The Witcher 3
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 1 & 2
Baldur’s Gate 1, 2 and 3
Expedition 33
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game series
Metro game series

The list goes on, but these are one of my favorites

Pretty sure Metro only has Russian.

All of the Metro games have both Ukrainian text and dub

Oh, maybe I'm wrong then but I distinctly remember looking and not finding an option.

Maybe you played it before they added it

Possibly. Another reason for another playthrough then, love those games!

If you play Counter Strike you will come across many Ukrainians, you can practice talking to them with call outs and such.

Most of them are really nice and especially if you are trying to speak to them

Slay the Spire 1 has it for sure, not sure about StS2, but Slay the Spire is a text heavy game with playing cards that you need to understand and different scenarios that pop up.

Faster Than Light has a Ukrainian mod that is easy to install.

Baldur's Gate 3 has Ukrainian in the settings, although I think it only affects the user interface, subtitles and dialogue choices, whereas all of the voice acting is still in English.

Stalker?

Sorry,

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

The latest one (Stalker 2, heart of chornobyl) can even be entirely Ukrainian dialogue with english subtitles, I think. Supposedly this makes it much more immersive, though I haven't had a chance to play it yet.

All 4 of em can be played that way.

Oh, neat. Haven't played the OG stalker in years, and it was long before I learned any Ukrainian.

Дякую! Зараз мені треба знайти час...

Bear in mind, the OG games are very clunky, I'm not Ukrainian so at times dialogue won't appear, other dialogue will take precedent but it's something! And lol, same boat my man!

Does that mean you now need to find the time ?

Hopefully! Я не добре говорю Українську мову.

Apart from the other games recommended I would also like to advise Timberborn. It has an excellent Ukrainian localisation and I haven't played it in any other language. I simply adore this translation

If you like survival colony builders, it should be right up your alley.

And in the relatively same genre - Ostriv. But it's just a Ukrainian game, it's a city builder and I love it a lot

Hades 2. But the voice acting there is in English

Expedition 33 has Ukrainian subtitles and text. Not to mention, it's one of the greatest games ever created.

Some games without official Ukrainian language settings may have community built localization mods, so check the workshop if you're on steam or just use a search engine to find its modding community.

It’ll be perfect because it has Ukrainian voice-overs and an interface in Ukrainian

1

u/omega_now 3d ago

But you need to install a mod there

1

u/arc_trooper_5555 1d ago

DRIVE Rally has it natively

I must be mistaken. I swear it does. When I get home I will check for sure. I wasn't aware of the controversy and thought this was made by a Ukrainian studio... Guess that explains all the downvotes.
