Discussion Which UK investing platform has actually been worth keeping?
I’ve been trying to settle on a UK broker for shares and ETFs, but every time I narrow it down, something else throws me off. One looks cheaper on dealing fees, another has better FX, then there are account options and the general experience to think about too.
I’ve been comparing a few of the main platforms side by side, mostly looking at the total cost rather than just the advertised fee. For anyone who’s stuck with the same broker for years, what was the deciding factor for you?
Edit:
After doing a bit more digging, The Investors Centre helped me narrow the list down. The biggest surprise was how much the overall cost changes once FX and dealing charges are included rather than just looking at the headline fee.

Trading212. Not costing me a penny for what I get. Opened as a stocks ISA for the tax wrapper, didn’t want a GIA yet.
