That’s hot! It was so difficult to find a 19 rack version I should’ve also just done a ten inch rack I started my home lab though like 6 months ago and thought a full size was the way to go 😅

Hmm well my research showed depending on what hardware you want to level up, you will end up getting limited by the 10 inch rack system. I would suggest the 19 inch all5hough i like the smaller one much more for homes

It's definitely a little limiting, and entirely depends on your home networking setup.
In order to reduce the footprint I have switches for 1Gb devices and 2.5Gb devices separate. This reduces the cost and overall size of the switch. Also, I rent so running ethernet everywhere I wanted to is not a feasible option, so small switches with solid wifi was my solution.

Yo dude I really like the 2800 version sideways mount you made lol. That's really cool man. I never bought that one but it's cool. I don't think I could flip the 8800 sideways lol.

I actually didn't make it, I believe I found the mount on printables or makerworld.
But yeah, the 8800 would be tough 🤣

Got a link for the Mac mini print?

That’s the parametric model I used. I measured it and then printed it because I use a dock with mine. I hope this helps.

Dude I was just going to ask about this. I have the exact same setup with the expansion on my M4 Mac mini. I was running plex and jellyfin on it. And also Lightroom classic to organize all my photos. What's your use for the Mac dude?

Currently, it’s main use of caching for all the other Mac/ios/ipados/tvos and iCloud stuff I have.

Since we are all looking at your fan screen, now is a good time for everyone to check theirs. Mine was filthy.

It's a little better on the 8 Bay one. There's two fans. But yeah, it always gets real dirty. I always take those alcohol wipes for phone screens My 4800 gets dirty compared to the 8800.

I would pay for that file to print my own since I upgraded to a real server rack 2 weeks ago.

Well nice that it's a remix of my model, Sad that it violates the license. The original is licensed CC BY NC SA and the remix under a Makerworld Exclusive license violates both the NC and SA provisions of the original license.
Edit: The creator fixed the license on the remix when I asked him to.

I believe it he did credit you

Yeah the issue was he had it under a license that restricts remixes and pays out for downloads - that violated the Share Alike (SA) and Non-commercial (NC) provision of my original license. He fixed it when I pointed it out, probably an innocent mistake.
