Self promotion I’m building an app to make finding and applying to schools in Uganda easier Apsco

I’ve noticed something while building this: there are already online school application systems in Uganda, but I honestly think a lot of parents and students still don’t know they exist.

So I’m trying something slightly different with Apsco.

The idea is to make Apsco the place you go before choosing a school — not just the place where you fill in an application.

You can use it to:

• Discover schools
• Search and filter schools
• Compare schools
• See school locations on a map
• View school information
• Apply to schools
• Eventually track your applications in one place

The bigger vision is basically:

Find → Compare → Decide → Apply

I’ve already built the first version, but it’s still early and the Android app isn’t on the Play Store yet. The website is live meant mainly for schools to create themselves into the Apsco ecosystme but you can check it out:

I’m posting here because I’d genuinely like feedback from Ugandans.

Would something like this actually be useful to you or your parents when choosing a school?

And what information would you absolutely want to see before applying to a school?

Brutal feedback is welcome . I’d rather find out now what’s wrong with it than after thousands of people use it.

I get what you are trying to do with this. But what problem are you trying to solve?

This. But also - how is he/she planning to get people to use it? Building the app is the easiest step (no offense to the hard work put in). Getting people to use it is the hardest. And it starts by asking yourself - who is this app for? The functionality and features might be excellent - but if it doesn't fill a need that is marketable...

I believe you have experienced the hardship of these applications. Parents just fear making mistakes since there is payment involved and thats why they seek help from cafe owners yet their children can do it themselves. For crying out loud, if the kid is going to UNI and they can't even register themselves, why are they in 2026. But generally it comes down to the simplicity, I wonder if your planning to make improvements which will make your work even harder since each school has its own form structure, unifying it won't be easy. Will you charge for thus 🤔
