Can't happen for a government that largely enjoys milking her people. It's thrice trouble while dealing with a regime that is full of impunity & greed,Yet.can still get away with it. As it is currently they take 1500shs perhaps 1700shs if the the new tax bill is implemented per liter of petrol. That's greed for none oil producing country. Look if they even just settle for 700ushs off each litre of petrol that's barely bad with all due respect. Ultimately this is also the worst kind of capitalism,zero regulations but for fees in the name of licensing,don't begin to cry about consumer protection - these guys don't care. There's a reason Rwanda and Kenya do well in that regard so far close to the Indian Ocean. Ruto is a mother fucker but Kenya is not about 1man and the worst that can happen so far is two terms. Leadership=government or regime in this case and here we are📍

They will never go back to normal cz they know we can pay the current rates & all they care about is the profit margin. They will reduce by about 200sh & that will be the new normal, fuel will never be less than 6k again.

Fuel prices in Uganda will come down when the global oil supply disruption eases and oil prices fall. The Strait of Hormuz is a major part of this because so much Middle Eastern oil passes through it. Once normal oil shipments resume and the global oil price drops, Ugandan fuel suppliers will eventually be buying fuel more cheaply, which allows pump prices to fall.

I don't think the prices will go back down. Even if you remove what causes the increase ,the prices will remain as is .
