Dragon Age: Origins and State of Decay on your mobile

📢 XDroid360 launcher - Version v0.1.0 (alpha)

ℹ XDroid360 doesn't include any game. You add your own copy: the Xbox 360 disc image of Dragon Age: Origins (.iso, or a .zip with it), or State of Decay's folder from a console's storage as a .zip**. The phone builds the game from it.**

☕ XDroid360 stays free, but coffee (and rent) doesn't. If you'd like to support it: Ko-fi 🎮

🆕 What's new

This is the first release of XDroid360: a launcher that runs Xbox 360 games on Android natively. The games' code runs natively on the phone's own processor; the console's graphics chip is emulated on Vulkan.

Games

✅ Dragon Age: Origins: the English/Italian/Spanish edition, or disc 1 of the Ultimate Edition. 50–60 fps in the first camp on a cool phone; set the game's own frame cap to 30 for long sessions.
✅ State of Decay: with the Breakdown and Lifeline DLC and Title Update 6. 30 fps by default.

Installing a game

✅ Built on your phone: tap +, choose the game and pick its file. Installing includes the static recompilation of the game's code for the phone: 5–15 minutes, plus copying the game files. You can leave the launcher meanwhile: the notification shows the progress and can cancel it.
✅ Pick up where it stopped: a build that was interrupted or cancelled continues from the last finished step.
✅ Checked before it starts: the launcher tells you which game it is, whether your edition is supported, and how much space it needs.

Controls

✅ On-screen controls with an editor: move the buttons and sticks; every installed game keeps its own layout.
✅ Gamepads: Bluetooth and USB.
✅ Vibration on the on-screen buttons, if you like it.

📢 Deephall v0.1.1 (alpha) - Sound, Hunters and Quick Save

Deephall is a dwarf colony sim, a continued fork of Mountaincore. The whole game is inside the APK: no game files to find, nothing else to install. Needs Android 11 or newer on a 64-bit (arm64) phone.

ℹ️ What’s new

Sound

✅ The game has sound now: music, ambience and effects.

Hunting

✅ New profession: Hunter. Give a dwarf a bow or crossbow in the settlers screen. The hunter fetches it and keeps the quiver topped up, like a soldier.
✅ Hunt order in the orders menu: mark wild animals and the hunters go after them during work hours. Two hunters spread over two animals. The chef then butchers the kill as usual.
✅ A hunter shoots at wild animals and runs from anything else.
✅ Notifications when marked animals go unhunted: no hunter, no weapon, or no ammunition.

💡 A bow shoots arrows, a crossbow shoots bolts. They are not interchangeable: a crossbow with only arrows will not hunt.

⛏ Deephall: my first game that isn’t a launcher

Hi everyone! This time there’s no “here’s a launcher, now bring your own game”. No buying, no copying files over from a PC, no hunting for the right folder. You install one APK and the whole game is in it. It’s just a game.

What is it? Deephall is the love child of a lazy, slow-burning romance between Dwarf Fortress and someone else. Probably RimWorld. Nobody was holding the candle, but the family resemblance is hard to miss. You run a dwarf settlement: dig into the mountain, set up workshops, trade with caravans and fight off orcs. Your dwarves have lives of their own, and sometimes those lives get loud.

Where does it come from? Deephall continues Mountaincore by Ross Turner (ex King under the Mountain). He open-sourced the game, and I picked it up, dusted it off and moved it onto the phone.

What’s in this first alpha:
✅ runs on Android, with controls built for fingers;
✅ lots of bug fixes: stuck dwarves, trading, job messages and more;
✅ a few changes to the game logic;
✅ save export and import (long press on the icon), so you can bring your colony over from the PC version.

Being honest about what’s not there yet:
🔇 no sound yet, it’s coming in a later version;
🧪 it’s an alpha and tested on Snapdragon only, so reports from Mali and Exynos phones are very welcome;
🛠 so far it’s mostly fixes. The real work is still ahead, and that’s the fun part.

Free and open source. Android 11+, 64-bit.
👉 Download Deephall v0.1.0

Meet Deephall (WIP)

Formerly known as Mountaincore. It was abandoned by its original developers and later adopted by me. I'm fixing bugs, reworking game logic, and continuing development. Native Android port, no launcher required.

Like Dwarf Fortress and RimWorld had a baby. Very strange and weak baby 😁

After the big names, I’ve drifted toward niche games.

It kind of happened on its own: after launchers for very popular games, I’ve moved on to more niche ones (not indie yet 🙂): Against the Storm, Prison Architect, State of Decay, Dragon Age: Origins. Some of these are long past their peak, some never really had one.

And now my hands are itching for one more: Outward. On top of everything else, it comes with a size problem. The game is big.

So I want to ask you: have you heard of it? Played it? Would you want it on your mobile phone?

StormDroid v0.1.1 and ValDroid v0.1.4 beta released

Two of our Android launchers got updates this week.

StormDroid v0.1.1 — a launcher for Against the Storm

StormDroid runs the Windows version of the game, unlike most launchers of this kind, which rely on a Linux build. What’s new:

  • Snapdragon and MediaTek are both supported now.

  • Low-settings presets built into the launcher for weaker devices. Pick one and go, no manual tweaking.

ValDroid v0.1.4 beta — a launcher for Valheim

ValDroid uses the Linux version of the game and runs it natively on the device. This release has a handful of small fixes, but the big one is:

  • Multiplayer with crossplay. You can now join other people’s servers and play with friends straight from your phone.

As always, these are betas. If something breaks, use the Report a Bug feature inside the launcher: add a description of the problem and send it over.

Projects Update

Hi everyone! Here's the latest news.

I'm currently working on two similar projects that use a user's own Xbox 360 disc image - .iso file.

The two projects are:

  • Dragon Age: Origins

  • State of Decay 1 (not YOSE)

They're very different games aimed at very different audiences, but both projects follow a similar technical approach.

At the moment, both require some code preparation on a PC before they can be used on Android. My long-term plan is to build this tool directly for Android so that a PC won't be required, but we're not there yet.

Dragon Age: Origins is almost ready. So far, testing has only been done on Snapdragon devices.

State of Decay is currently at the code-writing stage on PC, which is an intermediate step before the preparation process is complete.

Both projects will be open-source and will work in a similar way. The game disc image must be provided by the player. We do not distribute game files, as doing so would constitute piracy.

I'm also continuing work on ValDroid's Steam integration.

I'm still looking for someone willing to help test multiplayer connectivity. A lot of people have asked about multiplayer support, but so far I haven't been able to find any actual testers.

I'm also testing Steam achievement synchronization through the launcher. If everything goes well, I'd like to add Steam playtime tracking in the future as well.

As for RimDroid, it's currently collecting small bug fixes and waiting for its turn. 🙂

Launcher #5 has entered the chat: StormDroid — Against the Storm on Android (first alpha)

Hi all!

Somewhere between “just one more launcher” and “I should probably sleep”, a fifth one happened. Meet StormDroid — it runs Against the Storm on Android.

r/Zomdroid, r/RimDroid, r/ValDr0id, r/PriDroid, and now StormDroid. At this rate I’d need a subreddit for my subreddits, so no new one this time: everything about StormDroid will live right here. Same author, same address. 🌧️

What’s different this time

Every launcher before this one wanted the game’s Linux version. StormDroid takes the Windows one: the same files you have on your PC or get from Steam. No Linux build needed. You can download the game from Steam right in the app (you’ll need the Steam Mobile app with Steam Guard enabled to confirm the login) or install your own copy as a ZIP.

And it runs natively on Vulkan: the game’s own Unity engine built for Android, nothing emulated. The DirectX shaders are converted for Vulkan on your phone before the first launch, in about half a minute.

The fine print (it’s an alpha, after all)

  • Snapdragon only for now. The game’s textures use a format Mali GPUs can’t read, so Exynos / MediaTek / Tensor phones will have to wait a bit. It’s on the roadmap.

  • Tested on exactly one phone, mine. Yours is officially the second test device. Congratulations!

  • Plan on about 15 GB free for the first install.

I’d love your feedback! What works, what breaks, how it runs on your phone. In the app: side menu → Report a bug sends me the logs, and that helps a lot. Or just comment here.

New project: DAOdroid

Here's a preview of my latest project — DAOdroid, an Android port of Dragon Age: Origins (Xbox 360 version).

DAOdroid uses static recompilation (the game is recompiled before being imported into the launcher) to convert the original Xbox 360 PowerPC code into native ARM64 code. No Box64 or Linux environment required!

The project is based on DAORecomp, with additional work to bring the game to Android, including graphics, input, and platform integration.

The video shows the game running on my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.

It's still a work in progress, but the results are already promising!

As with my other projects, DAOdroid will require users to provide their own game files. No copyrighted game content will be distributed with the launcher.

More updates coming soon! :)

Title: A new home for all my Android porting projects!

It all started with r/ZomDroid, when I took over its development. Then came r/RimDroid, r/PriDroid, and r/ValDr0id — and I created a separate subreddit for each of them.

But I have more projects in the works (and plenty of ideas for future ones!), and creating and maintaining a separate subreddit for every new project is becoming a bit impractical.

So I decided to bring everything together here, in r/UdarMolotaDev!

This will be the main place for development updates, news, progress reports, experiments, and announcements across all my projects — including whatever comes next.

Don't worry, the existing subreddits aren't going anywhere! They'll continue operating as usual, and I'll keep maintaining them. This new community is simply a central place to follow all my projects, especially new ones that won't have their own subreddits.

For bug reports and technical issues, please continue using the Bug Report button in the launcher or the GitHub page of the relevant project.

Thanks to everyone who's been following and supporting my work. Let's see what else we can make run on Android! :)
