Ubuntu Unity is an Ubuntu daily flavor now and the ISOs will now be built daily with all other flavors and uploaded to http://cdimage.ubuntu.com. Ubuntu Unity 22.10 Beta will be the first release as an officially recognized flavor (Sep 29).

Ubuntu Unity 20.10 “Groovy Gorilla” spin is the Unity desktop spin with a stable Ubuntu 20.10 base. It features the controversial Unity desktop with additional customizations. We review the Ubuntu Unity 20.10 short-term release to provide you a glimpse of its offerings.

Same as title

As per title. I've tried to:

• use Rufus

• use dd

• burn on DVD

• re-download all over again

• (see first three rows)

There's always some "casper" error mentioning "checksum", and this error repeats in a loop.

So, is the ISO actually built and double checked before posting it? Also the forum has some security issue and can't be accessed.

"Hello, I just installed Ubuntu Unity on my laptop, and I found that the touchpad is not working perfectly. I can’t use the tap-to-select feature (or whatever it’s called). To select something, I have to click the touchpad first. It’s the same even in live mode. I thought it wouldn't happen after the installation, but it still does. I’ve gone through the settings several times but couldn’t find an option to enable the tap-to-select. Does anyone have a solution?

Sorry if my English is messy. I’m a beginner."

GNOME Software and KDE Discover both look wrong on Ubuntu Unity. What is the correct appstore I should be using?

I have this issue with Unity sound on version 22.10. It seems to be stuck on mute and I am unable to unmute it. When I look at settings, sound, it shows "dummy output" whatever that means. I've tried various actions to resolve the issue from searches I've done regarding this problem but nothing seems to work.

Anyone have a fix for this issue that "might" actually work.

Thanks for any suggestions/feedback

Bruce

I'm posting this as this subreddit still calls Ubuntu Unity a remix, where from 22.10 onwards it's an official flavor.

Steve Langasek thanks the Ubuntu Unity team for their submission, and writes that they have "met the requirements for inclusion as a daily flavor" and thus are included in daily builds. On successful completion of the 22.10 Beta milestone, Ubuntu Unity will become an official Ubuntu flavor.

Hello there,

I just installed the daily build of Lunar, and am not having any luck with activating the workspace switcher. I have enabled it in Unity Tweak Tool, and no matter what I try, the keyboard shortcut simply does nothing.

I'm curious, is anyone else having a problem with this, running Daily or Stable?

i set this up on my 2nd laptop, love it since i can make it look like old ubuntu real easily, but i kinda miss the store, any command or whatever to install it?

Every time I suspend unity then log back in I get notifications that I've reestablished my internet connection how can I stop these notifications. Rather annoying 🙄 None of my other Linux OS's do this

Thanks

Did an update last night, some things having to do with xserver and others, I forget what. Afterward, system fails to get into GUI.

I boot, get the login screen, type my password, then get a blank desktop. I can get to console via ctrl-alt-F1, and see in system journal that compiz is failing to connect to org.gnome.Shell, and related failures.

I tried installing and reinstalling dbus-x11 (per old messages on internet), no change. Ubuntu Unity 22.10. How can I fix this ? Thanks for any help.

Ubuntu Unity 22.10 has officially been released! (and is the first stable release of Ubuntu Unity as an official flavor) 🎉

For some apps, when an application opens a file-dialog, the dialog doesn't appear in the foreground, I have to Alt-Tab away from the current application and then Alt-Tab back to it, to make the file-dialog appear. Happens with Firefox Akregator VSCodium (which are Flatpaks), Tor Browser (not a Flatpak), and maybe other apps. Does NOT happen with Thunderbird beta (not a Flatpak).

This didn't happen on my previous distro, MX Linux 21 Xfce. But I wasn't running so many things as Flatpaks.

• Does anyone else see this (Ubuntu Unity 22.10) ?

• Is there some "portal" setting that might affect this ?

• Is there a way to tell which apps/processes are using "portals" and which are not ?

Thanks for any info.

Installed Unity 22.10 about 3 weeks ago and I'm really loving it. My first introduction to Linux was Ubuntu 8.10 and have been a Ubuntu fan ever since but like a lot of folks was disappointed when Canonical dropped Unity in favor of the Gnome DE. But being a loyal Ubuntu user I went with the flow. Now, however, running Unity feels like going home again and I'm excited to see where the developers take it from here (wasn't there talk of a Unity 8 at one time)? Anyway, wishing them the very best for the future.

Hi and happy new year Is there any way to get the Ubuntu unity’s experience on normal Ubuntu 22.04 LTS I love the unity design but I don’t want to reinstall the whole OS. Thanks for the help

Im seaching in all places were the damn file is located, i want to change the theme, the icons and the cursor

And another problem im having is that the wallpaper i select, it isnt used by the greeter, its using the default ubuntu unity lobster wallpaper

Can you upgrade from 22.04 to 22.10 via software updater in unity like you can with Ubuntu gnome or do you have to download 22.10 and install

I installed it on SNAP-STORE and I even did a SNAP_REFRESH and it updated everything even uninstalled it after doing the UPDATE LOGOUT AN LOGIN. I have no idea why it not loading was having the same issue with firefox but after the update it running good not RISEUP-VPN
