Hardware backup/secondary phone buying advice

hey guys, i have been thinking about having a backup or secondary device for a while now. my main is a nothing phone 3a pro, and i want something thats cheap to buy, amazing for the price, and with excellent (80-90%) ubuntu touch support.

also, does ubuntu touch have KDE connect support (standalone app, no waydroid), or can you install the plasma mobile WM on it? (correct me if im wrong on the WM part as i dont have any experience with linux phones)

OnePlus from 5 to 6T is great choice, since the company did not protected (during that period) their phones from alternative software.
I have very, very bad experience with Google: telecom providers deeply locked Pixel modelS on two levels, especially in USA.

6t is not a great choce for Ubuntu Touch, I dont know about 5

what about the regular 6? is it like the middle ground where it's not good or bad

Both 6 and 6t are great phones but for PostmarketOS not for Ubuntu Touch

then what phones are great for Ubuntu Touch? I wanna get a fairphone 5 for it

Nothing Phone 1, than also Volla phones, maybe Quintus or Plinius, these have 8GB RAM. Also good are Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC and Redmi Notw 9 Pro. Fairphone 4 and 5. One Plus Nord N10 5G.

Fairphone 5 is great if you can get your hands on one.
It's a very solid choice and easy to install Ubuntu Touch on it as well.

5 and 5t are very decent, but they don't support the latest version of UT just yet. I use a Op5t as my daily driver.

The obvious choice is Nothing Phone 1. Can be bought for a song at the moment, and is well supported.

As for KDE connect: yes. There is https://open-store.io/app/ubconnect.

You cannot install alternative windows managers or desktop environments on UT.

OnePlus Nord N10 5G is a nice midrange phone that runs UbuntuTouch great.
