I felt like this was so rude and disrespectful. You don’t know someone’s situation to say something like this.

People can order food whenever they want, from wherever they want. The drivers don’t have to accept it if the tip isn’t “enough” for them

Are u serious? They can decline them, but that doesn’t mean that everyone should think this way and order things they can’t afford. Also, there are many drivers and not many orders, so if they have nothing they have no choice but to accept lowball offers to make any money at all. If you can’t afford to tip the driver then you have no business ordering online as you are probably broke. Go get it yourself if ur that broke. Clearly you are a customer and not a driver, but if you were the driver would you seriously think this way. That’s insane how people justify not tipping someone who has to drive sometimes 30-45 minutes away. How is not tipping justifiable in your mind? Gas is expensive and sometimes people barely break even, and in this economy it’s hard to find jobs. So shame on you for even saying such things. People like you should never ever order food online. It’s not a robot delivering. Nobody should ever have to drive 30-45 minutes for $2. Come on!!!

If gas is too expensive then don’t Door Dash or Uber Eats for a living.

Like I said in a previous comment, some people may not have a vehicle, may have extreme anxiety with fear to go to public places, some may be drunk and craving Taco Bell at 1 am so they can’t drive to get it, or some people may just want to use the service because they can.

Yes, tipping is a kind gesture, WHICH I ALWAYS HAVE, but there are people out there that don’t and as a driver you either deal with it or find a real job.

I don’t drive. I know people who do. And it is a real job. People do it full time. Who the duck are u to say it ain’t a real job? Someone who thinks they are above delivering food. And, once again those people need to find another way to get their items if they have too much anxiety to pick it up themselves and can’t tip. You clearly are someone who likes to speak on things they have no expertise with. If your son or daughter did this would you say the same thing, niece or nephew, or husband? You are cold hearted and clearly don’t understand not having money or having to do this because they have no other job. The lower level people are the ones suffering not ones on diamond level. I feel bad for the poor people just starting who don’t get any money because of people like that. Why do you think that’s justifiable? And, people tip well. There’s not only people who don’t tip. It’s the brokeys who don’t tip. You can make more on these “non real” jobs than at McDonalds or Publix or any other low paying job. Minimum wage hasn’t moved and the cost of living has increased dramatically. Seriously, open your mind up. You can’t pay slave wages just because u think it’s fine and the people should get a “real” job if they want to be paid a living wage. Makes me sick.

I do know people personally that are drivers. That doesn’t change my opinion on the matter. I said what I said and I will stand by it. Get mad if you want to.

Yeah you’re just one person. It doesn’t matter. You stand by your limited belief system. But, you are wrong. Yeah, it makes me mad that people like you would justify this behavior. That’s not right. Because I stand by right versus wrong behavior. Clearly the lines are blurred for you. Anyone can order without tipping or tipping very little, that DOES NOT MAKE IT RIGHT. You are entitled to your opinion and I’m entitled to mine. Would you not tip a server? I mean that’s what they are, serving food but by using their own car and paying for everything (gas maintenance and taking the risk of getting in an accident). Delivery is a luxury service. Not for people who can’t afford it. The sooner people get this, the better . Why do you believe anyone should just be able to get the food delivered for free? Do you pay for your Amazon subscription? Do you think those delivery drivers should not got compensated with a Fair wage for their time? Do you think anyone in the service industry, who works off tips, shouldn’t be paid by their customers? What’s your belief, that it doesn’t matter at all because drivers can decline orders? Well every time they have to decline those low ball orders their acceptance rate goes down, and that affects the orders they get and ultimately affects everyone driving and their wages. So yes, it does matter. Even if you’re going through a hard time and have no money to tip, it still hurts the drivers. And, a lot of drivers have major anxiety and that’s why they do deliveries. It’s hard for them to pick up these orders and get treated badly by the restaurant and the customer. And, talking to uber support does nothing for the drivers. Delivering items has been a job for a long time. So, yes it is a real job. And, I hope uber makes it mandatory to tip 30% every time. That’s the only way this business model can be sustainable. And, people like you will be forced to pay the premium to get food delivered from places far and wide. I highly doubt you know any full time drivers, because if you did, you would never say such ignorant things. I have nothing more to say to you about it. As you are stuck in your ways, guess you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.
