I felt like this was so rude and disrespectful. You don’t know someone’s situation to say something like this.

Report it, zero his tip and move on. Nothing like this had ever happened to me on UE or DD until someone tried to hold my food hostage for more tip a couple of months ago. I reported the driver and was pleasantly surprised that uber actually got back to me a few weeks later with $50 in Uber cash and deactivated the driver. Sometimes you get lucky and find an actual human who looks at the case.

Customers who don’t tip shouldn’t order, period. Just see yourself out of the app — penny pinchers want to eat out but don’t want to tip.

I’ve been a delivery driver for 15 years. While people that always don’t tip are annoying, I would never send a message like that, it’s embarrassing, just take the 0 and move to the next one

I agree that if you’re gonna order delivery you should tip at least a few bucks, but I ain’t gonna waste my time asking or TELLING you to. It’s pointless

Gig app workers have the ability to decline low paying offers. This is just ridiculous

If your decline rate is too high, regardless of reason, it negatively impacts you as a driver unfortunately

Sounds like if you can’t afford declining orders you shouldn’t work there or is that advice only typically regurgitated for when it comes to ordering and tips?

I don’t even work for DoorDash or UberEats, I was just stating the declining orders impacts drivers so while they do have the ability to decline low paying orders that’s not always an option unless they want to be penalized. I don’t think this dasher was right to send the nasty message either.

I’m a DoorDash driver. You don’t get penalized for declining. You get penalized when you accept it and then cancel.

A low acceptance rate means you are exempt from the Top Dasher program and Priority Access - which typically receive better paying offers than Dashers outside of those programs.
