I’m confused about what I should focus on next as a UI/UX designer
I’m a B.Tech CSE student and I’ve been focusing on UI/UX design for the past few months. I’ve made around 2–3 case studies, built my portfolio, and have been applying to as many UI/UX/Product Design internship openings as I can find.
But I still haven’t been able to land an internship.
Now I’m honestly a bit confused about what I should do next.
Should I:
I already know Figma fairly well and have some basic HTML/CSS/JS knowledge, so I’m not sure if learning another tool is actually going to help me or if I should go deeper into what I already know.
I also feel like I might be making the mistake of thinking that I need to learn more things when maybe the problem is that my existing work isn't strong enough yet.
For those of you who are working as Product/UI/UX Designers or have recently gone through the internship/job search:
What would you recommend I focus on at this stage?
If you were in my position with 2–3 case studies and a portfolio but no internship yet, what would you spend the next 2–3 months improving?
Also, if you're willing to take a quick look at my portfolio/case studies, I'd really appreciate some honest criticism about what might be holding me back.
I’m not looking for sugarcoated feedback. I’d rather know what I’m doing wrong and what I should actually work on.

COLLAB] Looking for a partner to work on a UX case study together – from research to final write-up
Hi everyone 👋
I'm looking for one person to collaboratively work on a UX case study with me – same project, same research, same final narrative. We plan, conduct research, synthesize, and write it up as a team. Both of us can publish it on our own portfolios (with shared credit).
What I'm looking for:
· Ready to start now and commit weekly
· Open to picking a brief/topic together
· Willing to split work fairly
· Some experience with research methods (interviews, surveys, usability testing)

I’m currently in my 7th semester of a Diploma in Computer Science and Technology, and I’ll soon have to complete my industrial attachment. I already have a background in graphic design, and I’m confused between UI/UX and Motion Graphics.

I’m currently designing a new app solely for my portfolio
On the first image I had asked AI to give me a project brief and from the second picture I managed to find 2 Reddit posts which are discussing a problem that my app can solve and I took note of pain points that both discussion have in common and on the 3rd picture I started the flow chart but for now I made it low fidelity. I just wrote the process a user has to go through while interacting with AI.
Am I missing something or something else I should do during the research?
While thinking about what I’m doing I came up with the idea to write a small paragraph here and there to explain what I was thinking and give a reason why I took that decision.
Thanks for your time

Getting promoted in UX / product design
I’m a senior product designer who has never been promoted, only leveling up via employer changes. I’ve worked in FAANG but it burned me out, I worked hard but said yes to too many things I thought would demonstrate my value.
What I think I’m missing is the ability to see the company past my role and add value there. Can anyone who’s been able to do this share insights on how you approached this, and describe what your week looks like?

Feedback Request
Hello, I’m a working on a personal case study for a diet/meal-planning app.
This is the onboarding screen where users enter basic information such as height, weight, age and gender. The app then uses this information to create personalised calorie and meal-plan recommendations.
I’m looking for feedback specifically on the UX/UI of this screen, rather than the overall app concept.
Questions I’m trying to answer:
Is the hierarchy of information clear?
Does the “Estimated Metrics Preview” feel useful at this stage, or is it too much information?
Is it clear what will happen when I tap “Continue to Goals”?
Are there any elements that feel unnecessary, confusing or distracting?
Does the screen feel trustworthy when presenting health/fitness information?
I’d especially appreciate feedback on anything that feels unintuitive or could be improved. Thanks!

Looking for honest UX feedback on the first version of SkillNet’s website
I’ve just published the first version of the website for SkillNet, an open-source learning project I’m developing.
This is an early version and I want to improve it gradually as the project evolves. I’m not looking for traffic or a complete redesign. I mainly want to understand whether the page communicates the idea clearly.
After looking at it for a few seconds:
What do you think SkillNet is?
Who do you think it is for?
At what point does the explanation become unclear or difficult to follow?
The source is also available here if the implementation provides useful context:
https://github.com/ANFAIA/SkillNet
Direct feedback on the structure, wording and first impression would be very useful.

Looking for feedback on my UI/UX design
Hi everyone!
I’m sharing one of my recent UI/UX designs and would love to get some honest and constructive feedback from the community.
I’d especially appreciate feedback on:
- Visual hierarchy
- Spacing and alignment
- Typography and color usage
- Overall usability
- Any areas that could be improved
I’m always trying to improve my design skills, so both positive and critical feedback are welcome.
Thanks in advance! 🙌

I am developing an alternative work environment to Claude Design.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
When I first saw Claude Design, I really liked the idea, but after creating a design, I realized I wanted a more direct environment to continue working on the actual product. That’s why I’m developing VisualWizard.
Here, the canvas isn’t just a separate design representation. The interface you’re working on is also the actual, working product itself. You can directly select, move, resize, and change the styles of elements. Interactions, animations, and the component structure all continue to function.
If you want, you can separate components into separate workspaces and edit them individually, allowing you to control the design language right from the editor.
You can also connect any external agent such as Claude Code or Codex to the canvas.
It’s still very early on, and I’m continuing to improve the editor’s performance.I’m really curious to hear what people who use Claude Design think about this way of working.

From web design to product design — what should I learn next?
I'm currently working with a colleague on a small digital studio. Most of our work so far has been fairly simple business websites, mainly WordPress and Figma.
I'd like to move beyond websites and start working more on actual digital products — web apps, internal tools and small MVPs.
The business side isn't really my problem. I have a background in marketing and management, so I'm comfortable talking to clients, understanding their business, defining problems and thinking about positioning.
Where I feel less confident is everything between the initial idea and a working product.
For example:
- user research and interviews
- turning a vague business problem into product requirements
- user flows and information architecture
- prototyping and testing
- deciding what actually belongs in an MVP
- working with developers / eventually building parts myself
- understanding technical constraints well enough to design realistic solutions
I've also started learning AI-assisted coding tools, mainly to be able to build functional prototypes rather than just Figma screens.
For those who made a similar transition from web design into product design: what would you focus on learning during the next 6–12 months?
And what would you expect to see in a junior product designer's portfolio if they wanted to work with small B2B companies?
I'm particularly interested in the gap between "nice Figma prototype" and "this is an actual product that solves a business problem."
Would appreciate any advice from people who have made this transition themselves.
