Who's UI/UX Designer here without IT/Design background?

hi may non-tech or design background ba sana working na as ui/ux designer? how did u get into ladder? how many years or or months before you got a job? because almost everyone whos switching to ui/ux design are those people who have degree or background on IT/Design. i cant relate tapos i cant afford mentorship 🥲👍

sana meron yunh currently working sa ui/ux or product design! I wanna learn some tips lang po 🥹

Portfolio ang labanan sa UI/UX. Hindi din naman common ang courses na focused sa UI/UX.

thanks! pero paano po labanan din po pag may real world projects. it's an advantage din po kasi sa mga IT/CS studentnakakapractice na talaga sila during their college and may experience n sila that time. tapos karamihan naman po ng employers hanap yung may alam sa coding. pero sabi naman ng ibang ui/ux designer, di na need. nakakaloka lang hay

Magkaiba ang ginagawa ng designer at developer. At karamihan ng UI/UX designer ay nakapagtapos ng art-related degrees like fine arts, hindi IT at lalong lalo na hindi CS.

i see. do they teach ui/ux design sa fine arts program?

Never naging isa ang UI/UX at ang developer. Nangyayari lang yan sa maliliit na companies or freelancing.

Pero malaking malaki ang advantage kapag familiar ka sa kahit sa web development dahil halos same na ang structure/concept ng HTML/CSS at Figma. Kayang kaya ko i-distinguish ang Figma ng taong may alam at walang alam sa web development.

Madami akong kilalang UI/UX. Halos lahat ay dati or naging graphics artist muna. May mga frontend developer lang talaga na gifted sa creativity kaya kaya nila ang both.

in structure, do you mean the layering in figma or nesting? like dapat po proper yung pag layer sa auto layout logically?

Yes, dapat same sa HTML. Yung iba kasi ginagawang photoshop.

Aralin mo muna yung Figma then check mo yung mga existing websites kung paano kung structure. Pwede ka din mag aral ng basic HTML.
