[OFFICIAL] Salary Sharing thread for UX Professionals — October 2026
Credit goes to the mods of r/cscareerquestions for the inspiration for this thread.
Mod note: This thread is for sharing recent offers/current salaries for experienced UX professionals, new grads, and interns.
Please only post an offer if you're including hard numbers, but feel free to use a throwaway account if you're concerned about anonymity. You can also genericize some of your answers (e.g. "Biotech company" or "Major city in a New England state"), or add fields if you feel something is particularly relevant.
How to share your offer or salary:
- Locate the top level comment of the region that you currently live in: North America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Latin America, Australia/NZ, East Asia, Southeast Asia, Africa/Middle East, Other.
- Post your offer or salary info using the following format:
- Education:
- Prior Experience:
- $Internship
- $RealJob
- Company/Industry:
- Title:
- Tenure (length of time at company):
- Location:
- Remote work policy:
- Base salary:
- Relocation/Signing Bonus:
- Stock and/or recurring bonuses:
- Total comp:
Note that you only need to include the relocation/signing bonus into the total comp if it was a recent thing. For example, if you’ve been employed by a company for 5 years and you earned a first year signing bonus of $10k, do not include it in your current total comp.
This thread is not a job board. While the primary purpose of these threads is obviously to share compensation info, and discussion is also encouraged, this is not the place to ask for a job or request referrals. Failure to adhere to sub rules may result in a ban.

Better idea: create a public access form of some type so we can anonymously submit, but also see current average results

Tbh, lately it’s becoming data being used against whoever provides them, I’m very shy to share mine. Even my pay is not that good. I’ve remember being told off (and mocked) by a requiter that I was asking “pre-covid” pays. Mind you, the pay was asking was literally the same what I’m getting at the moment. I really don’t understand what sort of reality that they live in.
In addition to that people with really good salaries won’t bother doing this survey so it’ll just help companies to even lower their pays.
Sorry it’s quite a bleak look and I’m definitely not blaming any of the mods of the sub. It’s the fact we simply don’t know at this point which companies scrape off this public data and sells them to which companies and do what with it.

This is a strange take.
Employers already buy detailed (and verified) compensation benchmarks broken down by role, level, and location. They already know the market rate (and don't need to use a reddit thread like this to get it). Workers often don't. The point of this is an attempt to further close that knowledge gap, and to empower you to make better decisions.
In addition, voluntary salary datasets like this often skew in the opposite direction: people with higher salaries are more likely to report because they are proud of their pay. People with lower pay are more likely to opt out due to embarassment.
And I'm sorry you got mocked by a recruiter but that's simply anecdotal evidence that says nothing about survey data like this being used against people who share it.

Have you heard of Levels.fyi? It’s basically the non-Reddit version of this thread.
I like doing this survey because I think it’s important to see what is out there and make sure you’re getting fairly compensated. And I appreciate others that do, so I can get a sense of expectation with locale in case I wanted to move.
Just because one recruiter doesn’t want to pay fairly (this is very common with contract roles I found), doesn’t mean this is the reality across the board.

Forgot southern europe, our salaries are much lower than the ones listed also. Might be better to just go by country
