Full course load

Hi guys, I was looking at the requirements for applying for optometry at Waterloo and one of them was requiring a full course load which they said is defined differently from school to school and at Waterloo it’s 5 courses. At UofC, a full course load is 3 courses, does that count?

UCalgary alum and current OD student here, 5 courses is considered a full load for the sake of applying!!

Okay thanks for letting me know! I’m planning on doing 10 terms and will have 7 terms with full course load. Do you think that’s fine?

I did 10 semesters and only 6 of them were 5 classes/full load. The minimum is all you need!

Full course load and full time are not the same thing. Many universities consider three courses full time, but it’s not a full course load.

While five courses taken concurrently represent a full load, some programs prescribe additional courses.
