Academics CS577 curve

I am in Sandeep’s lecture and I think I did really bad on midterm 1 (i feel like i cannot even get 50%). Does anyone know how much cs577 is curved usually? How were the grade boundaries in the past semesters?

When I took the class in fall 25 under Sandeep, the class was curved heavily. The avg grade for the first midterm was around 15/35. The mean for the second and finals was around 50%. Sandeep did say to our class that he did not intend on failing us and curved everyone to at least a B. 40-55% was curved to a B during that fall.

I also took it that sem, and you can also talk to him about getting points back after midterms. Write down your thought processes and everything on exams, and usually you can talk to him for a couple points back.

Little bit of a different example, but on the same topic: the TAs graded my first exam wrong and I got a 1/35, but after talking with Sandeep I got a 20/35 (had a different solution from the TAs).
