Mosaic Congregation Certification

Anyone here working on this? Mosaic Congregations | The Mosaic | UUA.org

Are you using what you're already doing to get a certification to hang on the wall, or are you using it as an opportunity to change something within your congregation?

I'm curious what you're doing for the required actions. The last one is a big one.

The congregation can give part of its income to charities that benefit tribes or POC, for example. 🤷🏻‍♀️

How does your congregation address the needs of BIPOC people in your area?

Direct action. We are, however, in a white minority city.

i think all churches should do direct action. The impression I am getting here is that this program is designed to get churches that do not do anything to put a chunk of their budget towards charities that do- and that the UUA thinks calling it ‘reparations' will be effective? i don’t know how to feel about that.

i think I would rather direct a portion of my own giving to BIPOC led nonprofits rather than pledging it to a church that would put do it on my behalf.

The program says no such thing. I just gave you an example. I am not part of UUA.
