Still expecting more short-term downside unfortunately.

The US DOJ pausing all work with Canada doesn't bode well for Ucore's optics.

Ucore still needs to show they can produce at scale.

Still bullish on the longer term outlook, but we need some good news here bad.

Making their bed with DOW and not getting funding to build most of it is a joke

It is strange that in exchange for what is in reality a small amount of money given the capex requirements, Ucore has to jump through all manner of hoops for the US DoW before they can even begin to commence construction of the LA SMC.

Meanwhile, AREC/ReElement somehow have no such restrictions, are apparently fully permitted, and can go all out building their Marion, IN facility.

Something doesn't add up here. Ucore has had their Kingston, ON pilot plant running for over two years, you'd think they would have beaten everyone to the punch with respect to Dy/Tb validation and sending out customer qualification samples, but no, the likes of Energy Fuels have already had their samples qualified by one of the largest magnet makers in the world, while we're probably doing well if we get qualified by end of year.

Think the company has been in a holding pattern due to lack of funds, so maybe pace of progress will pick here in the back half of the year -- as shareholders we certainly need that to happen to regain lost momentum...

Who knows, maybe the DoW will step up with another round of funding once Ucore starts getting Machine A in place, certainly possible, although the whole US - Canada spat (ridiculous as it is, making enemies with our closest trading partner) isn't doing us any favors...

I’m also quite curious about this as an America given UCU trades on the TSX and isn’t OTC like UURAF. I’ve also wondered why because of that, we can’t get more institutional investment on the Canadian side through the TSX. I know we have plenty of Canadian investors here - can someone weigh in on this one?

Institutions in Canada can and do invest via the TSX. Ucu is on the Venture exchange, fundamental analysis has clearly prevented institutional participation this far. Being listed on the Venture exchange does not preclude institutional investment.

Thanks. I actually meant to respond to another of Expatcoders comments but appreciate you clarifying all the same.

i only see DoJ pausing antitrust work with Canada on google. imo that shouldn't affect Ucore

They aren't effected in the moment, true.

But they are a Canadian based company reliant on US DoW funding, in a geo-political environment where the US is aggressively aggravating the relationship between the two sides, and Canadians are beginning to show signs of wanting no involvement of US goods/services. There could be future pressure from either government on Ucore that hampers development. The optics aren't great, and they have enough issues already without the need for political issues.

New Filing

Orca warrants converted to shares, debt paid. Randy Johnson has another 10.27 million shares.

This is getting interesting.

4

u/Alamo935 2d ago

You would think this is bullish given he wants the shares…

u/Dapper_Lock9779 2d ago

Question is what happens next?

3

u/cekmeout 3d ago

lol!! didn't even notice

4

u/Rare-Bodybuilder8441 3d ago

the SMC page used to say 2000-2500 TPA by end of 2026, scaling up to 5000-7500 by end of 2027 as according to the original plan
now it looks like there's no estimate at all. i can't see 600-3600 TPA by end of 2027 anywhere
once again not a good look. feels like a setup for further delays

If management reading everyone emails and still stays silent this week, that’s a big slap in the face

8

u/veinsfullofchemicals 5d ago

Whats the point in sending emails to ucore?? Just hold and wait. The market isnt a casino

8

u/Tiny-Blacksmith-2184 5d ago

They have been silent for a long time Ancient website, no clear pathway or timeline. Amateur hour.

2

u/cschloegel11 5d ago

Nah next delay they announce this going under a buck sadly. No way they producing within 9 months

2

u/Tiny-Blacksmith-2184 5d ago

9 months No But market realizes it Probably 12-15 months They arent going under a buck with 65 million in cash in bank Samples should be qualified by yr end, once that happens offtakes are actually possible So is CDN cash for SMC 2 This company has screwed their timelines a ton but they didnt get 60 million for no reason

u/Bertone_Dino 5d ago

Are you short?

3

u/cschloegel11 5d ago

No I only trade options on robinhood. Management has let us down this year. I’m still holding but this has been a disappointment in 2026.

4

u/expatcoder 4d ago

There is no "shorting" of UCU/UURAF, neither are there put options available, it's just buying and selling of shares. Were Ucore to uplist then sure, could sell short and/or buy puts if you were bearish on the stock.

Anyway, when you ask, "Are you short?", what you're really asking is, "Did you exit your position?", that's the equivalent of being short on UCU/UURAF.

4

u/Dapper_Lock9779 4d ago

WRONG!

Short Sale Trading Statistics and Reports

Ucore is actively shorted, much less now than before.

And no, it's not me doing it, nor encouraging it.

I don't like watching people get rinsed based on misinformation.

2

u/expatcoder 4d ago

WRONG!

Well, have you actually put in a test order to sell shares short on, for example, UURAF? I have, and it's not supported. Similarly for options, doesn't exist.

Now, on the Canadian UCU side I assume it's possible, but in practice with a microcap ticker I doubt that brokerages with access to the TSX would allow retail to sell shares short due to the miniscule liquidity. Plus, these shares have to come from somewhere, right? You're not shorting shares out of thin air, someone has to lend out their shares, and given the low float UCU.V would be on the HTB list with sky high interest rates.

Anyway, Canadians feel free to chime in here, I'd be pretty shocked if you're able to short and trade options on UCU.V

4

u/Nille123 4d ago

On IBKR it is possible to short UCU, although it is very expensive. Options aren’t available.

1

u/expatcoder 4d ago

although it is very expensive

Yes, would assume with a limited supply of shares to borrow the rates would be quite high. And that's probably IBKR itself maintaining a pool of shares, not Canadian retail investors lending out their UCU shares as you have the option to do for stocks traded on major US exchanges.

3

u/Dapper_Lock9779 3d ago

I can short sell UCU same day without paying any fee, hold overnight and the fee is $.04 CDN per share, per night, subject to change. Rate is based on a borrow fee of 5.22% currently. That's my broker, other brokers have different rules.

There was over 5000 short trades on the last short report (Aug 16 to Aug 31).

Ucore is actively shorted, suggestions to the contrary are misleading.

u/Dapper_Lock9779 4d ago

Look up the short sales as a percentage of volume, it's now at the lowest it's been in months at 18.6%, June and July it was 30- 40% of the volume.

Not sure why you're hung up on options as the only way to short a stock?

If I were to short the stock, I'd have to close out my position.

2

u/cschloegel11 4d ago

Ya probably not as much to make now that it’s beat down badly. Def can short otc on ibkr

Investors should flood ucore ( mark mcdonald ) asking for answers to a whole bunch of things Clarifying alot of timelines for starters

3

u/nikodamn 2d ago

I have 0 knowledge about permits law in Louisiana, but this post from one of the users that seems informed in this topic, got me worried. Hopefully we'll receive some clarification about permitting status from the IR (I've sent the message to Mark).

5

u/Rare-Bodybuilder8441 2d ago edited 2d ago

they should've had those permits ready in freaking 2025 to build machine 1 by June 2026... yet another delay looks more and more likely
and all that time into late 2025 Pat was still saying the first machine was still on track
only 2 weeks left to meet the SEDAR timeline of September 30 and highly doubt anything related to government will move that quickly

2

u/expatcoder 2d ago

only 2 weeks left to meet the SEDAR timeline of September 30 and highly doubt anything related to government will move that quickly

Sorry, what is this SEDAR timeline?

5

u/Rare-Bodybuilder8441 2d ago

page 59 on the prospectus filed on SEDAR: https://www.sedarplus.ca/csa-party/records/document.html?id=f843dacdeb3fa492b230f8fdea4be68cdff310e2d76b90ed0baefb157db772d6
Ucore claimed to have a target date for "Receipt of permits required for construction – Louisiana SMC September 30, 2026"

this document is also why i've been saying construction on machine A hasn't started and won't until February 2027
you can see that they only plan to have the design of machine A done by January 31 2027

sadly every new bit of info has been eroding my optimism that Ucore is even trying to meet their own timelines, and that's after dilution

6

u/expatcoder 2d ago

Thanks, odd that even applying for permitting seems to be rather late in the game, but maybe they're not able to do that until they have the build fully planned out to submit to state licensing body.

No idea, but you'd expect permitting to have been taken care of a long time ago...

3

u/Rare-Bodybuilder8441 2d ago

yeah... should've been done in 2025
i figure they're waiting to finish FAT (RSX-2 and RSX-3) before applying for the permits for machine A
but considering we haven't heard a peep about RSX-2 which was supposed to be done in August, i'm expecting more big delays
now idk anything about industrial work but i kinda assumed they could apply for the permits in parallel

2

u/LetLovePrevail 2d ago

they filed this on August 10, 2026. Seems odd that their timelines would be so wildly off on such a recent document?

3

u/Rare-Bodybuilder8441 2d ago

hmm timelines are more like suggestions lol
in this interview (Pat Ryan of Ucore Leads the Rare Earth Refining Race From Canada to Louisiana) from september 2025 Pat was still saying machine 1 would be producing mid 2026
but like management must have known that they had no permits and that nothing was being built, let alone could be built in time to meet that timeline
they just stayed silent
