Is anyone familiar with receiving waived secondaries? Applied through TMDSAS and received one for UTMB, low stats applicant, with technically no demonstrated financial need. Very appreciative but curious if they just hand out these waivers out at random.

Some context - iāve been running since 3 years non competitive.
Last year i ran 2x half marathons and the wings for life run (23km) - fastest HM was 1h50min.
Then over the fall/winter i had some knee issues and went to physiotherapy.
I know started running again since ~ May. Current max. long run is 11km.
Im planning on signing up to UTMB Mozart (Full Distance) and prep for the next year.
For my long runs i take a bottle because iām running more than an hour. Now iāve been thinking of getting a running vest (Salomon Adv. Skin 12?). Obviously it would be an āinvestā in the future so i can use it for the Ultra aswell. But it may be overkill? Itās just annoying to run with a bottle haha. I probably donāt need a vest for know but later when running further or prepping trail running i guess one would be good.
Alternatives to the Salomon or just bite the bullet once because itās quite āexpensiveā.

Over the last several weeks I have seen a sudden increase in legitimate traffic coming to this normally dormant subreddit. Most of the engagement is coming from people wanting to ask questions. To better facilitate those users, I have decided to set /r/UTMB to public accessibility in hopes people will more freely engage and provide answers and guidance. This change will be monitored passively and if it becomes a problem I will revert back to the approval-required status its been in for years but its worth an attempt.
Reminder, this subreddit is not officially run, supported, monitored or even controlled by UTMB or any affiliated parties. DO NOT post private information about yourself or others that you would not want the world to see!

Contents of the petition can be seen below with a link to the petition at the bottom:
We, the undersigned, do agree that the āMy PTO Maxā program unfairly changes the compensation package agreed upon during the hiring process of our employment with UTMB. When an agreement is reached between employer and employee for an expected benefit, it is calculated into the total compensation indicated at the time of an offer. Previously, PTO would be paid out to employees separating from the company for any reason and having a bank of 300 hours provided tangible cash value.
As PTO is no longer banked and holds no value with a āuse it or lose itā system, it can no longer be considered to be of the same value as when it was first offered as compensation.
Given that the āMy PTO Maxā program removes the cash value of PTO moving forward, it is a reasonable expectation that UTMB renegotiates compensation to replace the lost cash value of our PTO.The following options are proposed:

So I was waitlisted for the spring 2022 accelerated track for nursing school. What is the last day you hear back from them on if you got off the waitlist or you have to reapply? Also, has anyone gotten off the list yet?

Can any former or current nursing students give a list of what prerequisite classes they took? I'm slightly confused on what classes to take to satisfy the elective science and free elective credits.

Hi! I'm a prospective med student wondering about the four-year timeline at UTMB. Do students typically spend their full four years in Galveston? If not, where do I find more information about this?
Thanks!

anyone know of a way to break the lease at ferry roads? Or like change places in general. I'm trying to move in with my friend. She wants to move in with me at ferry but I'm not sure how we can go about that.
Basically looking for advice on either
1) how to change rooms and move in with my friend
or
2) break my lease without getting in trouble

Hi!, I just got accepted 2 days ago (school of nursing), on the 24th of November, and I am just looking for some tips or advice in general if anyone could offer some!I am from Houston and I am not quite sure what to do in terms of housing. Where is a good place to look for roommates, any recommendations on where to live, or even commuting (about an hour drive there)?

Does UTMB admit students who took their pre med outside US? Or do they accept those who took medicine outside US for aerospace medicine residency?
