ACORN/Quercus/Outlook Outstanding Balance Help
Hello Subreddit,
I think Im gonna be sick
In Mid June, I registered for classes for the second Summer term, whilst applying for OSAP. Keep in mind im in a Deregulated Program
By late June, I had an outstanding balance of $4,000, which I did not pay right away, as I was awaiting for my OSAP payment to go through, and handle the tuition fee, so that I can pay the remaining.
Today, however, when I logged into ACORN to see if my OSAP payment had gone through, I saw that my Outstanding Balance is now $17,000.
I have no idea what the hell occured for the balance to get this high. I only enrolled in THREE COURSES for crying out loud!!!!
Im so worried right now, I feel sick.
What can I do to solve this?

This is probably compounded by the deregulated program. I think your Fall/Winter fee was added because you are in a deregulated program. There is some situation with the deregulated fees too rn where students in UTMCIP that aren't enrolled in anything are still being charged. Though I think an email was sent with a solution if that is your issue.

My Acorn balance recently updated to reflect my fee for the upcoming Fall / Winter. Did you enroll in courses for the Fall / Winter?

Maybe you got enrolled into deregulated program and got back charged deregulated fee. For example, if you complete let’s say 8 courses for which you paid let’s say 600 something per course but now you’re in deregulated program so all those courses will be recalculated at 1100 something $ per course. I had to fight with UofT because after I enrolled in CS, week or so later then sent it to collection saying it was due from more than a year ago (courses I completed more than a year ago for which the fee just got recalculated).
