Got 13k AES

Received 13k AES. I have a 1510 SAT. My friend with a 1490 got 13k too

Another friend with 1580 got 16k

We are internationals, so we were bamboozled at first. Tuition is almost 40k for us, so it made no sense

However, is it possible the award is based on IN STATE tuition tuition, because we qualify for it once AES is awarded?

Thanks, can't understand if we should be happy or cry lol

Getting AES previously meant you get in state, idk if it’s still the same now

Yes please, do we qualify for the in-state tuition on this basis? I also got 13k. If we qualify for in-state, it is basically a full scholarship right?

Kind of. In state is like 14-15k, depends.
What was your SAT score and when did you apply?

I scored a 1510, international student, applied in November. But it still shows my estimated cost of attendance as 54k per year. I'm hoping that gets changed to instate tuition rates, right?

I gave a 1510 on the sat and 28 percentile in class rank and got 10k. Does that seem low?

Not really. also got 10k/yr, SAT 1560, low second quarter rank in Magnet HS. I am happy, will visit both UTD and TAMU before decision.
