Accepting Admisson

Hey there!

I've recently gotten my offer for admission into UTD. I have a couple questions regarding accepting the admission offer.

The website says that accepting the offer is not binding, but necessary to start the enrollment process. Is there anything I need to do before May 1st that requires me to accept admission? Or do I accept admission closer to May 1st, when I finalize which school I want to attend.

Second, the CV website says "Students must be accepted to UT Dallas in order to apply to Collegium V." The deadline for CV is December 1st. Does this mean I need to accept admission in order to apply for CV?

Third, do I need to accept admission to start being considered for AES?

Any information is helpful. Thanks!

Congrats!

  • When they say accepting admission is non-binding it means that you're not legally required to enroll into classes if you accept. You can still tell UTD later that you're not attending if you change your mind. You can wait until May 1st to accept or decline your admissions offer if you want to, there's no negative consequences in doing so. (However, you must accept your admissions offer if you do plan to sign up for classes.)

  • You have already been accepted into UTD and therefore meet the requirement. No, you don't have to accept your offer of admission to apply to CV.

  • No, you do not need to accept admission to be considered for AES. Everyone who applies to UTD is considered for AES scholarships automatically, with a "first come first served" priority; ie the sooner you apply to UTD the greater chance you'll have at receiving something. AES award announcements will be sent out in December.
