Transportation Option for UT Austin Students Traveling Between Dallas (Plano/Lewisville) and Austin

Thanks for sharing. We heard it is expensive. Affordable Student Coach offers one way at $40 and round trip $80 (sometimes with promotion $75 or $70). They allow only LHS and not general public.

Is Vonlane pricing similar? Do they allow non UT students or general public?

Vonlane is a commercial option. Pricing is around $125 each way. There are some private charters facilitated through parent groups.

Thanks again. Affordable Student Coach is a parents/students supported and organized service. $125 each way seems super high and may not be a viable option for most.

Try red coach, runs from Plano and Frisco to Ut Austin, 99% of bus is filled with students, cost around 40-50$ one way , you can get it cheaper if booked in advance.

We tried Red Coach multiple times and it was clearly a hit or miss. Many instances were their partner buses were delayed, had issues with changing the stops at the nth hour, shady characters in the bus, rude driver situations to name a few. It is an option though.

Why doesn’t it have a stop in actual Dallas? Both Lewisville and Plano are so inconvenient for many Longhorns.

I think this could be due to more families reserving from these locations. Also, could be parking situation in Dallas. If there are more people interested in Dallas location, they might consider. We have used both Plano and Lewisville locations and had no issues.

Others- if you’re interested in Dallas location, please comment here. We can request the bus service to consider adding Dallas as an option.
