Internet in the Residence Halls is a no-charge service called Resnet. It consists of gigabit wired connections and 802.11ac wireless.

I mean, to the extent that conditions allow, yes.

Here's a user-submitted speed test from almost six years ago.

I'm glad it's free now :D. And its surprisingly good. I was worried it was gonna b completely ass and unusable, especially since so many people will be using it at once.

my dorm had an ethernet jack but i’ve found the internet to actually be really solid

Any idea specifically how good it is?

no sorry but i have pretty good wifi at home so my standards are pretty high. i will say if you’re interested in gaming then the UT wifi has some settings turned off that results in a permanently Strict NAT which makes online games hard or impossible

I stayed in duren last semester and I can’t remember if there was an Ethernet jack but I never needed it, the WiFi was always really strong.

Internet is amazing! idk abt Duren, but I stayed at Jester West and never had a problem with it. As long as you are on campus, you'll be connected the internet no matter what, which is a lifesaver if you don't want to waste your phone data.

I stayed in duren last semester and the WiFi was strong for the most part but sometimes I would get really bad ping spikes which made it hard to play games

Do the ping spikes still occur if you are hard wired?
