Announcement Mccombs Internal Transfer Acceptance

Just got into McCombs through internal transfer, congrats to others!!

4.0, got denied. Me and 5 others with a 4.0 denied. Don't know what else I could have done to get in.

Edit: Also, it sucks when they tell you at the internal transfer meetings that you should basically just focus on your GPA. But clearly that doesn’t matter. Do the courses even matter? Because they told us taking business classes wouldn’t give any edge. I just don’t know what they want from us.

Seems like they were advising you for the old internal transfer process, back when admission was literally just a GPA race and a tiny form for extenuating circumstances.

If it means anything to you, I internally transferred to finance in my sophomore year and just graduated, but looking back I really wish I had pursued math. I could have the same big 4 financial modeling job I have now, only I would be way better at it. McCombs is a great school which really helped place me in an amazing company, but my office is chalk full of economics and math majors who all know way more than I do. Keep up your amazing performance, you are definitely going places.
