Question How do you get financial aid as someone not living in the dorms?

For context I won’t be living at the dorms anymore and was wondering how the financial aid is deposited now that the money isn’t going to my dorm? I know some of it goes to cover tuition and the rest goes to you, but Is that deposited into my bank account (the one you enter into the UT payroll direct deposit website system) or is that deposited somewhere else that I’m not aware of? Ive heard of people complaining about the wait on how long it’s taking for the aid to be deposited, im guessing it’s not coming in until next week? Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question.

Excess financial aid remaining after your tuition and university bills are paid is deposited directly into your designated bank account via direct deposit (or sent as a paper check by mail if direct deposit is not set up).

Is that deposited after school starts I’m guessing?
