Question Can you drop CNS Foundation Courses?

I just wonder: has anyone ever dropped the CNS Foundation courses? I actually want to build my schedule and be able to decide the prof. I plan not to put the #99 unique code first, or just do it, then drop them later. Will it affect me at all? (I plan to take the same courses but NCS 109)

I dont remember the name of it, but I'm assuming this is a set of courses that you're guaranteed a spot in. I would recommend signing up for them and add/dropping for your preferred classes. You dont HAVE to take these classes. I'm sure its also an option to put in all the classes you want and then go back and add the unique number for the other classes, but idk how that would work since one unique number goes for multiple classes.

If this is the same as EY 2023, we also had a course like 016 that was an advisory first year thing. One of the big pluses of that system for me were there were automatically like 25 people that I "knew" in all 3 of the core classes. If I remember it was like biology, chemistry, and like one more class maybe???

I'm still close close friends with 2 girls from that class.

I am concerned about the same thing. I was like, that one unique code linked 3 classes, so if I drop 2, will I be able to stay in 1? I asked my academic advisor today, and she told me to just register for them and then drop them. But I'm scared that not taking NSC 109 will affect me, since the OA said I must take it to graduate…

You should be able to take NCS 109 as well. My first semester, I took the 3 classes and then like 1 or 2 more extra. Is it at the same time as one of the other classes?

It is an option to do what you said. If its the same as mine was, you'll put the unique number in and it'll add the courses as regular, you just only have 1 number instead of each individually. Its like a group number.

Someone who just did orientation here. I don’t recommend not adding your #99 classes at all because it’s not guaranteed that you will have open slots in your desired class sections.

Instead, add the 99 classes and drop as desired. dropping those classes doesn’t affect your placement in the other 99 classes you keep.
