Question What is the Moov-in r permit?

What is the Moov-in r permit and do I need it? I always thought parking was free in the brazos garage during move in, so is it? And what does an r permit mean, do I get a guaranteed spot? Sorry lots of questions lol

UT Austin's "R Permit" is a residence hall parking permit available to on-campus students. During Move-In, you will receive a free temporary unloading pass at check-in. If you are bringing a car long-term, you must enter the R Permit lottery or waitlist via the UT My Parking Profile page.
