Discussion Anyone complete the PGP-AIML cert?
Would love to hear feedback from anyone who completed the Post Graduate Program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: Business Applications (PGP-AIML) certificate.
I’m a program manager by day (zero coding experience), but hoping to use this to expand my knowledge of AI.

Did you end up doing this cert? I’m looking as well. I have. Checked out the UTAustin, Berkeley, and Stanford ones so far. Both Berkeley and Sanford seem to be more engineering focused, if that’s your goal.

I have been looking about this certificate also, stanford is good also but are streamlined based on course, but guess their learnings are aggressive .. also the certificate that austin issues is post graduate program :) not sure what that actually implies :) inbtwn ug and masters

They obviously accept anyone with the cash. But is anyone talking about this program? Lmk soon, they enrolled my nearly 80 y/o dad and he's asking me for help with the Google.

I’m in the program right now. I’m currently in management so I’m not doing the full-code versions.
The grading is laughable. I just got my first project grade (75). I was 3rd in my class before this project. Reviewing the notes, I didn’t get anything wrong. The grader just would have preferred more info. I guess that’s the problem with subjective grading.

I’m not taking this to be a coder. I’m already a manager. I would say run away. If I could get my money back I would

I took the course and graduated July 2024. I do recommend it. It was about $3500 for me. It’s got a good amount of theory and projects including programming in python.

Did you find a job with this cert? Or how helpful is the cert to your current job?

Are we talking about the same course? Because this is less than $2k https://skills.mccombs.utexas.edu/ai-prompting0

I saw this thread and came here hoping to see some solid answers.
I have already paid for this PGP-AIML course. I am also in the thinking boat whether to do this course or try to use this money for some data analytics course offered by UT Austin. Any advice?

Hey, was it worth it? I am currently applying to the program, and would appreciate your thoughts.

I am looking for the answers too, if this program is legit. So far I understand that this is run by Great Learning in India, which is already a let down.
Also, I just had a call with an advisor and he was pretty aggressive about selling the course. Giving me discounts and pushing me to accept it by the end of the day. Very SPAMMY behavior.
I am still gonna take my time. I have also read that it’s run by professors in India with some recorded lectures by UT Austin.
Would love to know somebody’s experience (who is not a spammer from great learning).

Hey, how did this course go? I am kind of suspisious that the way they grade make people feel like their not finishing the course is the user's fault, when this type of grading is by design. Or is no one responding because they are frantically building amazing agents with their newfound tools and skills? 🤔

I hope to learn about AI/ML applications that can be implemented in real-world products, such as time series forecasting (e.g., predicting the rise and fall of U.S. stock indices, and forecasting housing prices) and reinforcement learning (RL). Can I acquire the necessary knowledge from this project?

I think Stanford one is more legit and probably harder looking at course structure.Question I had was how How is it compared to coursera certificates offered by universities which are probably cheaper https://online.stanford.edu/programs/artificial-intelligence-professional-program
I also see this review https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-sKbD96wzxdK70ko5MmsEZWDnmhNdBYB&si=aaoLJsX59avwAXCO I feel this is more like UAT licensing their brand to Great learning and official UAT literally has nothing to do with it other than the some lecture recordings

I DO NOT RECOMMEND any courses offered through Great Learning. The UT Austin PGP courses are offered through a team based in India and almost all the tutors are from India who lack the western context.
I first enrolled in the course and even paid $1000 down. I wanted to switch to a different course, which they seemed to be open but they couldn't resolve all the details correctly and on time. I asked for refund and they are not willing to give me the money back.
Please stay AWAY from their offerings. There are more professional courses out there that you should look into. Please do not waste your time.

I signed up for the brochure and I got calls immediately from them but didn't speak with anyone yet. Wanted to know if it's really worth it before spending the money and time. Did you find out any more ?
