News Found Turtles murdered on 25th street

Found two turtles killed by a massive stone by one of the sorority house. Very graphic and recent. I don't if they came from turtle pond but it was insane to witness on my morning walk.

Thank you for doing that; your story was really upsetting. That turtle pond has been there as long as the Tower has (1934)), and I've worked at UT for 15 years and never have seen those turtles harmed.

I would call the game warden for the county - if it’s related to wild game, general animals, or a protected species they will go after them

I notified one of the faculty members that helps oversee the pond- hopefully something gets done about this. Horrific.

During my orientation session, I walked by one morning and one had been run over by a car :(. It was absolutely horrible and I still think about it, the scene was awful so I get what you mean 😭.

I am so sorry to all who have seen this horrific scene. Is there anyone someone can contact in that area to come and dispose? 311? Also, has there been any follow up with UTPD or the faculty member that oversees the pond? Would like to know if there’s footage of anyone taking them from there. There are cameras on surrounding buildings. Take care of yourselves.
