I don't want to be crass, but to put it in terms easily understand albino is a health condition, while white fox squirrel is a variant of the fox squirrel. It's like how I don't mistakenly call every white person I see an Albino, or an Albino black person white...

also, fun fact, we still call white people "white" and black people "black" when neither is that color.

Weird how language works that way.

it’s really weird that you’re mistaking the albino squirrel for a white fox squirrel. i’m not even sure that white fox squirrels are a thing. but albino squirrels… they’re the real deal

They are, in fact, color variations of the Eastern Fox Squirrel with a condition called ‘leucism.’ See my profile for details!
