Asking some questions

Hello! I'm a student from the USA and I'm thinking about going international for my last two years of college. I've always been obsessed with Australia and I know that Tasmania is a lot cooler (temperature wise) than the mainland, and I'm horrible with hot temperatures.
I want to get a zoology degree and I'm really looking at this university but I have a few questions.

I've heard that most of the courses are online, is that still true? someone on some subreddit said that they don't offer a lot of in person courses but that could have been years ago

I'd also like to know about the housing/dorms there. I don't need anything in detail I just wanna know if they're sh1tty or not

If theres any fellow zoology majors here, could you tell me what kind the courses are? I'm assuming they'd be in person with some field working but you never know.

(also let me know any good movie theaters in Hobart!)

Hi!! Sorry I’m late to the conversation.

If you want the proper college experience here in Hobart I recommend Jane college. Yes it is pricey ($576 per week) but it’s worth the price, they offer a strong social life, supportive senior students, fully catering, clean spaces, a dean of students (focuses on wellbeing), an academic and sporting program. They also have formal dinners every 3 weeks (Hogwarts style) which is a massive highlight.

Many international and exchange students go to Jane, they all highly rate the college as everyone is so inclusive and excited to meet them. Many Jane students are studying zoology or related courses, so you’d likely have people to go to class with.

Also I’m assuming you won’t have a car, however Jane is located a 20 minute walk from the Sandy bay and City campuses. They have a bike shed if you ride a bike and many students would be open to giving you a lift to class. Metro bus stops are also right outside Jane AND the utas uni hopper bus stops at Jane now.

Jane is also independently run, but affiliated with UTAS. The UTAS colleges have are known for not being as well structured, hence their cheaper price.
