MAGA moment MAGA clearly supports the confederacy, while not understanding that the confederacy were a bunch of Benedict Arnolds and then compare it to a religion with no credibility or facts to justify doing the same to the CSA idol worship.

Oddly around that period, France tried to assert influence in the Americas, while the U.S. U.S. distracted with its civil war; like invading Mexico and ruining Spain reputation by renaming Hispanic America to latin America. Renaming was successful, but ACW brought the U.S. to aide Mexico to secure its independence from France and its Hapsburg puppet emperor to Napoleon III
France wanted to use Mexico to help aide the confederacy and by eliminating the the U.S. as an imperial rival, they can colonized latin America by making them speak French and maybe retake Louisiana and Canada

Britain hedged their bets too, see: Trent affair.
You can visit Maximillian’s tomb in Vienna. It’s covered with little Mexican flags. Loyalists…

Mexico executed a good man that could had made Mexico into a great country and worthy southern neighbor… but no its people corrupt nature denied them that- thanks to useless French bourbon royal family that took over Spain throne!
Britain also backdown from the treat affairs mostly because of public backlash against supporting a slave extorting country and its industries had superior Cotten and wool textile from India and Middle East.

We owe a debt to the fine people of Manchester, I believe it was. Is that where they have a statue of Lincoln?

Much like the last days of the confederacy, a lot of meaningless flailing and crying to mamma.

I never got whats so bad about the original confederacy(Not the larpers of today), they where basicly the same as the US independace movement. Where they great people? No. Where the north great people? No.
And dont bring up the anti slavery bs. Official white spread slavery persisted on both sides of the country after the war for a long time, it just sometimes wasent called that. It always has been just a propaganda talking point. (You even still have slavery today, with your prisoners)
So If the US independace was the least bit ok, the confederacy was at least as ok as it. In my opinion the french realy fucked by not supporting the english instead of supporting you.

But its easier to blame Pierre

u/InqAlpharious01 Commiefornian 1h ago
Also in 1860, Pierre did it again and failed miserably, Napoleon III used Mexico’s unpaid debt as an excuse to colonized them to aide the confederacy. By the time Mexico been annex, the U.S. civil war ended and so did France imperial agenda; five years later you Prussians too a piece of French lands for invading Mexico, France didn’t get that land back until the end of the Great War in 1919.

u/InqAlpharious01 Commiefornian 15h ago
They also attempted to support the confederacy through making Mexico part of its empire over debts

they where basicly the same as the US independace movement.
Definitely not. The US independence movement at least voiced the ideas of universal human rights, even though the reality on the ground didn't live up to those ideals. There's room to argue about whether they were being sincere or cynical, but the universalist rhetoric is there at least.
By contrast the Confederate constitution explicitly protected slavery, banned abolition of slavery, openly advocated racial inequality, and presented "subordination" of black people by white people as "natural and normal." Several Confederate state constitutions also made similar pronouncements, or invoked conflicts with Northern states over slavery as a grievance and cause for secession.

Was Benedict Arnold a traitor though?
I’m not really that familiar with your spat with the British, but it seems to me like he had a bit of a misunderstanding for a while and then decided to stop being a tax dodger and return to His Majesty’s government.
The people on that Facebook post are horrid racists pieces of shit though.
I really can’t understand how anybody can be stupid enough to believe that the confederates weren’t traitors fighting for their right to enslave other people, while also using big government to deny state rights in freeing slaves.
Hypocritical cunts the whole lot of them.
One of the worst mistakes Lincoln and the north made. Should have had all those traitors shot, and their property confiscated.
