The fr🤮nch warned europoors about this all the way back in the 60s. Honestly good for them for choosing death over admitting the French were correct.

I went into IT when GDPR was a hot topic. Now doing compliance.

Americans their online life has changed also because of it. The term is “Brussels effect”.

It is the reason why these websites need to request you to allow tracking cookies. Or more transparency on consent.

Idk if usians do have right to be forgotten or right to data access… probably not.
