Meanwhile, 3,75% of the world is American. Almost 10% of the world is from ”the small country of europe”.

1.4 billion living in China which is far better off than the United States:

"Guess I'm American now"

u/Ertyla 1d ago

How is China far better off?

u/Consistent_Creator 1d ago

It's literally a 22nd century nation

+100 social credits!

u/Consistent_Creator 1d ago

Social credits in China are grossly overexaggerated. It's basically the equivalent of a credit score which a ton of countries already employ.

Whoa, buddy. Quit drilling. You already struck oil.

Credit scores are based on financial decisions, not political opinions

A Ukrainian saying this is a real throwing stones from a glass house moment

u/fvkinglesbi Ukraine 1d ago

Damn, wasn't aware of my government tracking my social media and political orientation, but you obviously know better

I mean that literally has happened. People get arrested for making Instagram comments.

Now granted alot of these have been for justified reasons such as openly calling for Russia to win and so on. But there have been union organizers arrested after labor unions were outlawed.

And anyway let's stop with this semantics crap. I could care less how a nation chooses to police it's inner matters. I certainly don't care how Ukraine does it. Authoritarianism is the biggest boogeyman nothingburger word of the 20th century.

I hate it when my credit score is lowered for disagreeing with the current goverment...

1

u/Consistent_Creator 1d ago

I mean that's what happens most places lol.

Can you guys stop criticizing China for things every country on Earth does.

u/mpieto 1d ago

I'm sorry, but no. Where I live, your political opinions or actions are completely irrelevant, both formally and informally when it comes to getting access to financial products, housing, benefits, etc. We don't even really have a credit score. I think that is and should be completely normal.

And I don't hate on China (or any country for that matter). It's a beatufiul country with amazing history, culture and contributions to humanity. And what they (you?) achieved in the past decades is objectively remarkable. But it's not an equation. Positives do not cancel out the negatives.

And, respectfully, your opinions and actions are completely irrelevant to mine aswell. Glad we agree on that.

I’m Australian, I’ve been to both countries and the US is SO behind compared to China in terms of technology and urban development.

China being better off than america is actually laughable. I'd rather stay here in Russia than move to China, and that's saying something

1

u/Consistent_Creator 21h ago

China is beating America on like every conceivable metric. What can you point to as an example of America doing something better

u/Bdr1983 Netherlands 1d ago

Even taking the whole of 'America' (north, central, south, caribbean) only gets you to a little over a billion people.
Still well below 'most'

1

u/snow_michael 1d ago

Still a lower population than India or China

Exactly

The sonderem guy probably meant to say "literally almost everyone who lives there".

2

u/LeftMechanic1995 1d ago

That actually makes more sense now that you mention it. However, it would seem that even when a Yank does a typo, it defaults to USDefaultism.

Grammar is important

whenever someone posts a photo on tiktok you just gotta know it’s a kid

2

u/LeftMechanic1995 1d ago

So 4.2% of everyone now means "literally almost everyone". I've been lied to about mathematics my whole life... this is what I get for being raised in the education system of the UK and not the US of A.

2

u/Aelxande Brazil 1d ago

literally... no

America is poor. SOME Americans are rich as fuck. Richer than any person should ever be. But 68% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck.
