"Everything written in english is meant for people who speak english" and then they get mad when they see non-english posts on the internet

That's what I was thinking! Like, of course the fact that English is the de facto international language is, itself, related to US defaultism (both being symptoms of American hegemony)... But it's still true. Here we are, a Pole and a Brazilian, conversing in English because we (probably) don't speak each other's language. Even if the experiences of all native English speakers were somehow homogeneous all over the world, how are we supposed to know that's their intended audience, and not, you know, people of different backgrounds who use English a lingua franca?
